New Unlimited Plan from Big Red?

I just stumbled upon this thread....I got so excited about it! I called the number on the picture immediately and got the deal!
Last week I took my wifes upgrade; got me a DROID3, gave her my DROID2.
Today I activated my wifes OG DROID on one of my other lines. I was set up to be paying $30/month for the new addition....now I will be saving $30/month or if you wanna look at it another way...I added data to a number that didn't have that feature before for FRRRRREEEEEEEE!
Oh and in November my number is eligible for an upgrade with a $50 discount.......what to do-what to do????

Sent from my DROID3 using DroidForums

I have had this plan since it came out. I was wondering if you can add new lines. I am wanting to add my mother-in-law and want to keep the same deal for her line as well. I currently have 4 lines on my plan this will be the 5th.

This deal is too good to not have with 5 phones along with my company discount i still will only pay around $200 a month.

Nope, if you add a line, it will be regular price. I added my new line right at the cutoff and had to get escalated up 4-5 times through supervisors etc just to get it on the 3rd line because it went through on the day after the deal ended. When I finally got it worked out they basically said, "ok, you've got the promo on this new line, but any other new lines after this will be full price." which is $30 for data +$10 for phone +$10 for text I think

I'm one of the lucky ones that got this promotion before it ended, but the question I have now is, how do I upgrade my phone? My new every two's been up for a couple months now, and I'm finally thinking about getting something better. Do I have to go through the number listed with this promotion to upgrade phones as well, or can I somehow use the web, or verizon store, or best buy? When I click upgrade on the website, it takes me to a place to choose what plan (which obviously doesn't include this promo)

Are you already using the unlimited smartphone plan, or is it the unlimited feature phone plan? If you are already using a smartphone, upgrading via the website shouldn't prompt you to select a new data plan. It should automatically use your existing unlimited plan.

I am on the 1400 family plan. 3 lines with the promo comes out to $180 altogether. I also just verified that texting is not included in the unlimited plan. You have to choose phone plan (450, 900 or unlimited), messaging plan ($20 for unlimited now for new customers), and data ($30 for 2GB). Mine of course was $15 for unlimited text, $30 for data, $59.99 for 1400 minutes, before I got this promo.

I just went into my account on the vzw site and confirmed that when I go to upgrade, choose the option to show only phone compatible with my plan, click on one (bionic, iphone4, etc), and then add to cart, it says I have to choose a new data plan because mine isn't compatible with the device i selected. Maybe some people have gotten around it over the phone, but looks like on the web they're trying to move everyone to the normal data packages.

When I got the Bionic for my son, I did it in the store and there wasn't a problem staying with unlimited data. And the Talk Text & Data discount remained as well.

WOW! Great find Bro! I'm currently over $400. for 3 lines unlimited takl/txt/web $100. per line talk, $29.99 Data and $10. per for txt msg. That's with my %20 percent off. We haven't gone over on minutes (because we can't), and we do burn up some data and texting averaging over 1000 txts plus a month per line and around 9454732.95 (actual average!) for data. I did a self evaluation of the last year of our usage and since my office and most of my friends are on Big Red unlimited talk isn't needed. I'm calling tomorrow to get my family set up quickly! I just home it's for 4G. We have no intention of giving up our Bionic and Thunderbolts. Here's hoping.

You're a bit too late. They started offering this promotion in November 2010 and stopped offering it around February 2011.

Well that just sucks!!! Guess I'm just gonna have to stay where I'm at. Still going to call and give it a try, What's the worst that can happen? They say "No" and I'm in the same spot.
