New X orders now will not ship until the 18th.. Yeah right

Ordered on Aug 12th, have not received any information. Was told by a Verizon employee (in-store, and he is my friend) that the phone would be here by today. NOPE

Furthermore, I was told my upgrade date was in January so I had to pay $20 extra plus not I couldn't use my NE2 discount. However, my actual upgrade date is Sept 7 of this year. Had I known this, I would have waited/dealt with the order differently.

Long story short, I have sent a nice email to Verizon about those two issues. Mainly, I'd like to get some help with the upgrade prices due to the misinformation on their part.
 
I ordered my phone on the 16th, which sucks after reading through all of this. I'm expecting about a 10-14 days wait. But I was wondering if anyone has info on where the phone distribution centers are? Most of the people that have posted are in the mid west and east coast. Is their anyone from the west coast like Washington that has received their X? Thanks!
 
i just ordered the droid x yesterday 8/18 and shipping was set at 8/31 took a look today now says 9/6. WOW! i hope they get me mine on the 8/31 date or i'll be pissed! how long is the wait usualy do you get it before the ship date, on or after?

Tomorrow is 14 days since I ordered and still no word. The wait time seems to vary from 7-20 days.

Well, it seems the wait for most people has been [RANDOM] days. About [RANDOM] percent of the folks are receiving shipping confirmation, and shipping seems to be taking about [RANDOM] days.
 
For those who ordered on the 9th...90 minutes ago I received my shipping confirmation. Was shipped today, expected to receive Monday 8/23.

More power to ya, but I would recommend calling. They tend to be more generous to customers over the phone - it is clearer that you are upset, and harder for them to dismiss you politely. Also you can ask for a supervisor that way. Just a suggestion, but you should get a large discount or at least a free accessory for that.
 
Greenville SC, ordered on the 9th. I've been a pretty vocal hellraiser about this. I called a few minutes ago for like the 6th time, but this time trying to get some contact info for Senior Management. After waiting a few minutes, the guy says "before we hang up and I have one of our senior representatives call you back, would you like me to give you your tracking number?". I almost fell out of my chair. So it appears that Fedex picked it up at 1:43 and it should be here Monday. Great for me, but what about everyone else that hasn't heard a peep?

Well I talked to this guy for a little while and it turns out that there are a few factors that determine who gets theirs first. He told me that full retail is number one priority. Then there is somewhere for the stores to note priority customers when they order supposedly. He didn't know what defined priority customers. After that , it's a matter of which distribution centers have inventory. He went on to say that there a lot of variables. I told him that I figured as much, but that the last 6 or 7 people I spoke with denied any variables and all stuck to the same first come, first serve theory. He apologized, but this proves my point, the whole thing is a freaking crap shoot. I sincerely feel bad for those who ordered prior to the 9th and still haven't heard a word. This kind of crap really shouldn't be allowed to happen.

Not so sure this is correct. I paid full retail for mine and people who ordered after me have got their DX and I have not. Mine still shows the Order has been processed, blah blah. They already hit my Visa card 2 days after the order. I ordered on the 9th. No email, no phone.
 
wow if i gotta wait 20 days i will call and tell verizon that me and 100 unsatisifyed dx buyers are canceling our orders and buying a iphone4 from you in jan! take yhat! lol j/k but i guess all i can do is wait the 2 weeks they set, i feel bad for the dudes from earler this month who still dont gat theres. i really hope that doesn't happen 2me!
 
Okay, I tried something new. You can call 1-800-GO-FEDEX and have them look up a package by the address it's being shipped to (even without the tracking number). Mine did not show up in the system yet, so it looks like I won't have my DX until Monday at the earliest.

Okay, I just tried this. They don't have my package in the system yet. So it looks like I won't get my phone until next week. This sucks considering I ordered my phone on the 5th!

I ordered on 8/12 and on 8/13 started reading this forum. I went to my VZW store to see if by chance they had any, they told me they were shipping on the 18th. I should have cancelled my online order and ordered from the store. They also started the free overnight shipping on the 13th, when I ordered on the 12th it wasn't free, so I took free 2 day shipping. I called on the 13th to see if maybe they had a date and to try to switch to overnight shipping (they wouldn't let me), she said she thought that maybe I'd have it between the 18th and 20th, but not to get my hopes up and consider the 8/30 so I'd be pleasantly surprised when it came early.

After reading posts of people ordering the 12th receiving theirs already I called because I'm leaving for a week on Sunday. I was told tonight that it was supposed to ship on 8/16, but there was no tracking info. she put me on eternal hold while she contacted the warehouse, only to be told it'll ship the 23rd...I'll be out of town!! Grrr!! I may call back on monday to get my tracking and make the 2 1/2 hour road trip home to get my phone and then turn around and drive back to MI! Either that or make my friend that's staying at my house run to UPS to overnight it to me in MI LOL!

Hope she's a liar and it mysteriously shows up tomorrow!
