So far it looks like I will get it on or after the quoted ship by date "25th" or if I'm lucky a day or two early. The only people I have noticed that received their phones faster are the replacement orders (people who's first DX was defective).

I have a feeling some people have posted they received their phones earlier just to piss others off. I'm pretty sure I saw one person say they received their phone in one forum but recently post they are still waiting.

Lastly, anyone that ordered with a ship date of 8/30 or 8/31 (forget which) may be disappointed since I noticed Verizon's site kept moving the ship date out into September but did not update the picture that showed 8/31 (looks to be fixed now). I noticed a few days ago that the ship date was 9/6 but the photo showed 8/31.

Moments after I posted this I got a shipping notice, so my 1st order will be here the 23rd (Figures it had to be a Friday overnight shipment). Anyhow, I assume the order I placed on the 9th (and billed on the 9th) will ship shortly as well.

Ha no kidding, at the rate I was going may have well just waited until everyone got theirs and they were available in the store... by the looks of it, it does look luck Verizon got a big shippment out today so I am sure you guys will not have to wait too much longer.

Knowing my luck however I am sure my phone will be:

1. Lost in the mail
2. Broken if I do get it
3. Delivered at a time my employer is closed (had it delivered to where I work because I would have never been home to get it.)

So I will one way or another be in the waiting game again I am sure of it.

I have horrible luck in life.

They lie. Many of us were told we would receive it well before we actually did. In my case, I ordered on the 7th, was told I would have it by the 12th and still have not received any shipping notification.

They quoted me the 23rd when we were in the store, and the 25th the first time I called customer service a week later. Heh, guess they split the difference

I've been watching this forum, hoping for some insight on Verizon's problems, but felt the need to share with you that my Droid X is on the way, and will be here the 24th. I live on the west coast, ordered in So. Cal and shipped to AZ. HOPE THIS GIVES HOPE TO ALL THE WEST COASTERS THAT ARE GETTING SHAFTED IN THIS WHOLE PROCESS.

When I ordered online, the ad on the droid X said "ship by 8/31". So I've been just waiting and reading the stories of those other folks that have been waiting for their X to arrive. Like the others who have posted here, I cannot make any sense of how Verizon decides on who gets the X and when. So I continue to wait for Fedex on the 31st. Hope those that have received their X's are enjoying them and for those who have not.....what can I say.

I double checked my tracking # and it shows the item was picked up (shipped from) ONTARIO, CA. I thought it was going to ship from Texas, so I'm not sure where other West Coast Buyers phones will ship from.

Also, Verizon's online order status has not updated yet even though I received the email. I ordered online on the 7th.
