New X orders now will not ship until the 18th.. Yeah right

STATUS: 8 Year customer (X added as new line) ordered online, no accessories.

Original ETA on Verizon site, shipping on 08/30

Indirect Signature required which means if you leave a note on your door for driver to drop it they will drop it on step. Or they will deliver to neighbour with signature.

Phone is incredible!
Well worth the wait. Hope everyone get's them early!

Its probably as useful as the store people telling you. Its vague and just says the typical blah - "Due to overwhelming demand your DX ordered 8/17 is due to ship 8/31"

orderd the 15th,said would ship the 31th.Called friday to check ,they said would be the 31st.Sent a email sunday,they still said 31st.Got email today said i will have it tomorrow.dancedroid

For that very reason, I will be bugging the folks at the V store for the next week or so.

Why can they not tie a store order to an email address for notification?
i orderd mine over the phone,but they do need to get there stuff together.I sent email to them on sunday got the reply on tuesday said it would be the 31st,then got email today said i would get it tomorrow.Crazy
 
I see everyone saying folks that ordered on the 18th is receiving their phones, well I ordered on the 18th Aug and haven't received anything yet. No emails or any type of messages. I ordered online and I am from Jesup, GA!

try costco stores, my buddy and i found 4 in stock at one this past sunday. came back monday and snagged 2. they are on a different schedule than verizon stores, so i am guessing so are other third party resellers.
 
Let me share something else with you guys. I just came from and eye appt. in Walmart and afterwards I jus' decided to walk back in electronics and to my little surprise discovered that they had FOUR, yes I said FOUR Droid Xs in stock. Now take it that I purchased mine on the 18th of August and is still pending shipment. So due to mine still pending shipment, I called Verizon immediately and explained the situation to them and simply asked if I could jus' pick it up from Walmart and cancel my order or do some type of rapid refund or swap, they told me the only way I could get one of those Droid Xs out of Walmart is to purchase it again and refuse my order when it comes and that it would take 5-7 business days for them to refund my money. I didn't want to have to pay for the Droid X twice, plus I got a good deal on mine, and I believe it's goin' to ship today or tomorrow, so I'm stuck in limbo now of purchasing the one of the four from Walmart or waitin' for mine. I'm tryin' to see if I'm gonna get a notification today, if not I might go back in there and buy one them from Walmart. I'm jus' don't want to have to spend another couple of hundred dollars on a phone I already have ordered. Verizon is very stupid because I asked them if I could simply swap the phone on order for the one in Walmart and their response was no because Walmart was a third party business or partner or sum' bull and that they don't get their phones from Verizon. Long story short. I'm mad azz hell right now!!!
 
7 Stages of Waiting for your DX

For those who just ordered here are the stages of the DX waiting process. Feel free to add anything I missed:

Stage 1: Just ordered and accepted the fact that the phone is backordered and you're on the list. Start looking at YouTube videos and researching apps. Join DX Forum to hear others' experiences.

Stage 2: Call Verizon and ask if there's been an update to the shipping status. Be polite when they tell you 'no'. Keep reading the DX forums.

Stage 3: Discover that customers who placed their order after you are already receiving tracking numbers. Try to make sense of it all by analyzing order methods and locations. Call Verzion, get same response as last time. Hang up without saying good-bye this time.

Stage 4: Start getting upset at those posting that their DX arrived today and they placed the order just a week ago. Call Verzion, demand an answer. Get transferred to a supervisor who swears it's first-come first-serve.

Stage 5: Start losing interest in the phone all together. Forget the reason you ordered it in the first place. Post comments on forum about how Verizon has really dropped the ball. Call Verizon and threaten to buy an iPhone.

Stage 6: Get a notification that your order has shipped. Get super excited and post the good news on the DX Forum. Call FedEx and ask them what the hell is taking so long.

Stage 7: ??? (To be determined for me.. Will let you know once I receive it.. But will probably take a few days for me to put the phone down to post the response.)
 
i ordered the 18th too...still nothing here, hell i STILL can't see any order status on verizon's site...so i'm just calling every day about it and letting them know i can't see anything, and asking about the status.


as for trying other 3rd party stores, no go for me, i need the discounts for my NE2 as i'm unemployed, but need out of this storm that is junk and i cannot stand it...lol

ETA from Verizon store, shipping on 08/31, arriving the 1st or 2nd, depending on who you ask.



The day after I ordered mine over the phone from the sales rep that sold us our Droid 2, I called to see if I could cancel that order and then make a new one via the web site so I wouldn't have to futz with the rebate and would be able to get email updates and they told me I couldn't.

The only way would be to refuse the shipment or use the return info in the package.

And this was on the 18th, almost two weeks before the device even ships!

How much money are they loosing because they can't do anything with these orders.

Not to mention that another customer could get theirs faster and the ill will generated by this policy.

I really don't understand.

Status: NONE!!!!!

Just got off the phone with Verizon wireless this morning. I have two friends of mine who ordered before me that live 15 minutes from me that have received them already... After calling Verizon to ask how this is happening I got an instant pause from the customer service rep and she informed me that this wasn't possible and asked for their numbers to check.... I immediately gave them to her and after a few minutes of being on hold I was told that Verizon had NO IDEA how they ordered before me but got theirs first.... So Verizon apparently has no idea how their shipping works... I am not angry that I have to wait for my DX... I knew that it was on back order and was ready to wait, but I am VERY disappointed in their lack of knowledge and their shipping methods!! Hopefully it comes soon and if not I have no other choice but to wait.... Hope everyone else who is waiting before me gets theirs sooner than later!!
 
Finally

I ordered my phone on the morning of the 14th and it arrived last night..Unfortunately, I wasnt home. Tonight I will finally have it in my hands dancedroid

FedEx: no idea

I called VZW yesterday to see what the scoop was since others who ordered around that time or later had gotten theirs already. They had trouble finding my account (strange point 1). It maybe because I did setup 2 lines that day, one for a Droid 2 and one for my Droid X that will be rolled into a family plan once mine comes. The rep let me sit on hold for a little bit, then came back and said, it's marked in the system for scheduled to ship on Aug 30th, so I should get it by the 31st.

BAH I say. The long pause in finding the info makes me wonder if somehow my order wasn't entered correctly and he had to put me back in line.

Regarding the shipping, I be willing to be that when you order, you get placed in line a specific warehouse/shipping point. Maybe round robin, maybe my location (I'm guessing round robin or random since early reports on the net had people's shipping location not related to receiving location). Anyway, shipments probably go to each warehouse, which then takes how ever many people of that list. The next shipment goes to the next warehouse, etc. At least, it's a nice story in my head. Otherwise, VZW has no clue what it's doing.
