New X orders now will not ship until the 18th.. Yeah right

getting mine tomorrow rep is overnighting it to me replacing droid 1 told me they have like 3,000 in the warehouse.

Very curious about this. Did you have to pay for it? What portion of the US you live in?

My story goes like this:
After arguing with Verizon several times about outgoing audio quality on my Droid I several times (and saying they have never heard of this well documented problem), they finally decided to replace it. First they offered a remanufactured phone. I told them no as I had purchased the phone NEW. I dont want something someone else has returned due to a problem. Then they offered a certified pre-owned. Worse than a re-man. Finally said I could pay full price for a new X, Inc, or 2. I told them no and asked to speak to the manager. Manager finally offered to give me a NE2 upgrade to either of the new 3. I chose the X for $199 after the $100 rebate. Ordered it on the 19th. They say it wont ship until the 7th of Aug. Cant check online order status as I keep getting an error. Everytime I call to get the status, I get different responses.

no did not pay anything for it there are replacing my origanal droid with the x they promised me a 2 but none avalible so getting the x i live in new york and the phone was shipped from texas.

i ordered my droid x along with one for my dad and an incredible for my mom on 8/17. the incredible arrived on the 20th and both xes came on the 25th. not bad at all, considering they told us a date in early september when we ordered them.

Finally - Got my email from VZ with the Fedex tracking # and the Fedex site is estimating a delivery of 8/31.

FYI - 8/31 was the original shipping date given to me by VZ after I ordered online.

So for all you hopeful peeps out there that ordered around 8/16, 8/17 - keep watching your inbox!

I called VZW yesterday to see what the scoop was since others who ordered around that time or later had gotten theirs already. They had trouble finding my account (strange point 1). It maybe because I did setup 2 lines that day, one for a Droid 2 and one for my Droid X that will be rolled into a family plan once mine comes. The rep let me sit on hold for a little bit, then came back and said, it's marked in the system for scheduled to ship on Aug 30th, so I should get it by the 31st.

BAH I say. The long pause in finding the info makes me wonder if somehow my order wasn't entered correctly and he had to put me back in line.

Regarding the shipping, I be willing to be that when you order, you get placed in line a specific warehouse/shipping point. Maybe round robin, maybe my location (I'm guessing round robin or random since early reports on the net had people's shipping location not related to receiving location). Anyway, shipments probably go to each warehouse, which then takes how ever many people of that list. The next shipment goes to the next warehouse, etc. At least, it's a nice story in my head. Otherwise, VZW has no clue what it's doing.

Yippeee!!! Mine shipped today.

Like many of you, I am anxiously waiting for my DX to arrive. This morning I installed the Android SDK with Eclipse and that's been helping me to cope until my droid arrives. The SDK includes an emulator which is like having a droid on your pc so that you can start to get familiar with the user interface. Go through the "hello world" tutorial and it will help to alleviate your "pain and suffering". You can read here for more info. No need to chew out some poor VZ employee who really isn't privy to the information that we all want... when our DX will be shipping.

At least I'm going to be at the beach all day Monday so it won't be on my mind as much.

That's quite weird that if your in NY and its coming from California. Usually they come from PA in the east.. hmm. But congrats mine is on its way also.

Ordered 8/16 got an email notice it shipped today. Which is cool.

Website has said it wouldn't ship until the 31st. Should have it by Monday...5 days early! Which would be 14 days total. (online order/phone only)
