News on the release of 2.1

Ok 2.1 is not going to be out for an undetermined amount of time. This thread offers no new information and is filled with rooted comments. Do we really need two threads full of the same information, questions, and statements?

Tommorow, the update goes out to 200000 people at 1159 pm, so basically 1 more day until they start releasing it, and 200000 people the next day until everyone has it. Since the amount of droids sold is about 1.05 mil, it might take up to 6 days more to get the update...
I got the info on droids sold at Day 74 Sales: Apple iPhone vs. Google Nexus One vs. Motorola Droid

We will just have to see.... I don't think it's coming out, at least, not for a few more days.

I think they are right on schedule and for some reason the people who said they weren't were misled by the same article that came from engadget:

I unrooted mine for this update,so yes even rooted people were fooled

Follow the links in my sig or visit the rom section of the forum. My links provide a manual method. If you don't want to get as involved in the process I recommend droidmod.

And I'll add this was a "nonrooter" asking for "root" info. Mike has not crossed over to the dark side yet. He is still one of you. Be kind to him.

I truly think we have all been fooled. I love my Droid but I would not expect 2.1 to be released for another month or two......Every time they announce the release, they postpone it. Must be too buggy and it just crashes the phone, otherwise they would have it up and running! I guess the Droid doesn't.....work with the ota 2.1, I guess they need to call apple for some advice on how a electronic device should work properly!!!! If they do come out with the update here in the next few days......good for them.....Just please quit making announcements that they are releasing 2.1 until it is actually ready.......Just my 2 cents.............

So true. Apple? My Droid works fine, and I know from first hand experience that 2.1 is stable.

Just getting off of work; I did not expect to see that 2.1 was released but I did hope we had some news about it. Verizon do not owe us anything, but it would be nice if a rep would just release a word to the press what is really going down. You have an angry mob on motorola's facebook page when they should be complaining to big red.
The mob need to calm down; but the least vzw could do is post a better update then what is released right now.

Bro.. I was just like you 2 months ago.. It took me 2 months to read all the posts and learn about the "cooked" roms. UD 7.8 is as solid as the real deal with many added features you will never see in the official release like... WiFi tethering or 7 home screens... Moto will never treat you right.
