Talked to a buddy of mine today, he, his wife and son all have Droids.
I asked if he got any updates yet and he said no... He then asks why his wifes home screen has a "different" home screen than his or his son's and why there are two dots on each side of the "box of squares" and the phone/contacts icons. DUH! I tell him how to check the OS info and he confirms it is 2.2.
Three Droids in the same house I would assume all on one contract/ac**** and only one got the update.
PS I have no idea if it was last weeks update that got stopped or this happend in the last 24 hours.
BTW I am just re-booting from the Jrummy update version of rooted FRG01B coming from the FRG22 build just to see if there is any difference. I did notice the re-draw times on my home screens sometimes lagged with FRG22 and I also did not get the .gif animations on FRG22.
Boot is complete! I'll get back with a report shortly!

System Reset
Would doing a reset allow the ota to come down to my handset? I manually updated using the file last week, file was 45.2 mb in size. Is the actual ota update bigger? No ota yet, will the phone just tell me when ready?:motdroidhoriz:

Personally....I think the update is crap but thats me. I dont see anything significant to have lived up to all the hype of waiting. Personally the only feature i was praying for was the ability to put apps onto the SD Card and use all that 16GB storage as my internal memory is only at 50 MB now.....yes I love apps....but without the ability to load directly onto the SD....pointless.
Unless someone has heard different, I was on the phone again with technical support and he said the update is on hold from an email they got. He said he is not sure of the issue, but that it has been pushed back. My wife's phone got the update this morning, it locked up the phone and then took it to 2.0.1, he had me do a master reset and it still did not update. They are sending out a replacement, he is not sure if it is due to software issues or if it is because they have stopped the push.
I think the tech/rep was looking in their infobank about them stopping it previously. Froyo is rolling out still, my wife just got off work and I looked in her infobank, no holds.

When the first leak was announced saying that Android 2.2 has been official released using the update.zip file from here: http://www.nexeo.net/android/FRG01B/update.zip
Is this an official release? Because I used that update on my droid phone and I have it currently running. Do I need to upgrade to something else? Or OTA will push it nonetheless? The update file was original 45mb. The one that this thread has is 77MB. I don't get it.

I am pretty sure if you are rooted that SPrecovery will block the OTA updates

I'm sorry if anyone has already posted this....
...but I did the manual update soon as it popped up (45.2 MB) one, and since then I've been having issues with the market something fierce.
there's one update thats been "installing" since 8/3/2010 (better keyboard). I went in and uninstalled it, but its sill showing in the market as "downloading..."
has anyone else been having issues with the market?
