Southern California Motorola Droid stock ROM here, got 2.2 update last night, took a while to start the phone and resync but after about 10 minutes became blazing fast, almost uncomfortably fast..
It can reboot back into 2.1. I then do a check for updates and it says I am current. All versions are 2.1 though.

....i choose to remain stock also....my droid works fine for me as stock....and while my harleys are far from stock, my cars are because they need to work when i need them to work without any issues....you rooters keep going however since it's you who advance technology while I just follow and say thanks....
I'm curious to know how wide spread this problem is....
I have messed around with the phone in the past. I was rooted, and other roms on and wanted to try stock. See where that gets me?

Who hasn't got the 2.2 OTA update yet?

Me too.... my friends all got the update already. mine will probably show up on the 18th

If I were you, I would have just updated manually. You've been missing out on quite a few features.

Yeah I just got it last week, I just want to complain to verizon, maybe get a new phone
they said theres nothing they can do and to wait for the 2.2 update, I'll get it in a few days. Been a few days. And I'm not in some country area im in SE mich.tonydelite

I'm in SE Michigan too... I don't know anyone who has received the OTA update because everyone I know who has a droid has already done the manual update.
I wouldn't worry though. I keep hearing that everyone should be updated by the 18th.

Not per Verizon, they said it started back East out here on the left coast we're scheduled later. Who knows though?
