****Official FroYo Rollout Thread-Version2!****

2.2 Update

I got the update on the original Droid this morning. My Official Beta site Swype no longer works though.

How do I fix that? I tried the old method of switching to the Android keyboard and then switching back but no luck.

Here's the thing, you build the app to the OS, not the other way around.

I see a lot of talk about that but I don't know if there is a work around.

I'm kind of curious. Did anybody get the ota that updated manually the last time?

I may have to make a poll on this.

As mentioned in the followup FAQ Answers post to OP of this thread(#3), delete JUST the Swype version, not the Installer, and re-d/l and reinstall.

Anyone else notice your droid getting hotter since the update? I am all stock and got the OTA update to 2.2 now my phone gets extremely hot to the touch.

How long have you had the update? If it's still syncing then the radio is going overtime. Think of a tiny, tiny microwave in the back of the phone. If it's not syncing then it's possible the CPU is running at max speed for some unknown reason. Try turning the phone off, disconnecting the USB cable, letting it sit for a few minutes, then letting it charge fully before using it again. If you still have the same problem there might be an issue. You may need to do a factory reset, manually install the "clean" update from the circus thread, or take it to VZW and see if they're at all interested in the problem.

finally coming out... too bad I went Root. Though I enjoy testing my phone out and its capabilities.... Running BBV.04 and a very nice fire theme. I haven't overclocked past the 800 Mhz I am running now but testing that out.

I waited a while to root. its a choice but happy that i have done it!

How are phones selected for the 2.2 update?

Just curious. Today my wife said for the past couple days, her droid has been bugging her to install an update, and she kept putting it off not knowing what it was. Today she finally accepted it. When I looked at her phone, I noticed it looked a little different and when I check the firmware version it says 2.2

So....She has a droid and I have one, but I have not been prompted for the update. Mine is still running version 2.1 update 1. How are phones selected for the update? My phone is primary line, her's is one of the secondaries if that makes any difference.
