That is what I kinda figured. No rhyme or reason. When did the update start rolling out?

The 2nd, then it was halted, then resumed about a week later. The rollout is totally random and it doesn't make any sense to anyone if they're looking for a pattern.

You can update your phone yourself if you're tired of waiting.

Received th OTA here in Colorado an hour ago.... wow ... pages and pics are loading faster then the 40% they said but that's just my unscientific impression. Probably be up all night ... NO wait I have a job interview in the morning ... oh well I guess they will meet me totally froyoed icon:flying

As of this moment I haven't gotten a sniff of Froyo and now I see that there's already an update for that, too?? Tell me, somebody, anybody: How does one update that which does not exist?

On a serious note, why haven't I been updated yet? Is this normal?

Got tried of waiting and did a manual update this evening. I did do a wipe before applying the update. All good except Camera Pro, still manage power with a widget have not noticed any abnormal drain. Phone appears much faster and cleaner operating.

Keep your battery charged. You won't be prompted to install unless there's sufficient battery power. Even when plugged in, there's a minimum threshold.

The rollout for the update is random. There is no real way to make sense of who gets the updates first next or last. Either continue to wait or install the update manually.

My wife and I just got our phone lasts weekend. They're 2.1. Looks like we just need to wait for 2.2, correct? If not how do you manually install...?

I got tired of waiting for the update so i did it myself. I dont know why i was afraid to try and do it myself. it was totally easy and pain free. here is the link.

there are 2 ways to do it. one uses a pc. the other is done on the phone by itself. you use a barcode reader to download the update.

Just received the OTA this morning. I'm in Covington Kentucky, right across the bridge from Cincinnati. I'm rooted running BuglessBeast Evolution. Anyone know how i can get rid of this notification, I heard something about using SPrecovery.

With BB if you accept the update it should just stop bugging you. Pete's got something built in there to stop it i believe.

Off topic but I use to live in Elsmere. I miss KY it was much nicer then living in Ohio.

I recieved am update today. I agreeded to have it sent over. Phone shut off turned back on but no update. Battery was at 100% as I had just woke up. What gives? Build is still Ese81 2.1 update 1

Just wait a while longer. Something may have been wrong with the update. It will poll your phone again and get it out to you.

See thats the problem I have with this OTA stuff. Not very often but once in a while something goes wrong. I really think you're better off doing the installing on line, but that's just my opinion.

Have tried but cant figure out why my phone wont go into recovery mode. (see my other thread for help) I never got it. figured out and the boys at verizon store cant either) Friend of mine works there and he can see the recovery file through my astro but cant get it to go into recovery. Have tested the x button and everything. Dont want to go off topic. Sorry if I did. FYI I have deleted the download i did of 2.2 and it never installed due to not going into recovery. I know that was an issue in recieving the OTA. But I figure if it asked me if i wanted to it should have done just that right?
