****Official FroYo Rollout Thread-Version2!****

I recieved am update today. I agreeded to have it sent over. Phone shut off turned back on but no update. Battery was at 100% as I had just woke up. What gives? Build is still Ese81 2.1 update 1

Just wait a while longer. Something may have been wrong with the update. It will poll your phone again and get it out to you.

See thats the problem I have with this OTA stuff. Not very often but once in a while something goes wrong. I really think you're better off doing the installing on line, but that's just my opinion.
Have tried but cant figure out why my phone wont go into recovery mode. (see my other thread for help) I never got it. figured out and the boys at verizon store cant either) Friend of mine works there and he can see the recovery file through my astro but cant get it to go into recovery. Have tested the x button and everything. Dont want to go off topic. Sorry if I did. FYI I have deleted the download i did of 2.2 and it never installed due to not going into recovery. I know that was an issue in recieving the OTA. But I figure if it asked me if i wanted to it should have done just that right?

It's Verizon's update. Go to the Verizon Store and explain that you got the notification but your Droid wouldn't boot into recovery. Either they will get it to work for you or give you another phone. If you get the OTA it still needs to boot into recovery to install.

You are not rooted, correct? Let Verizon handle it.

Try it again. Go to menu> settings> about phone> system updates. If you have had the OTA pushed to your device from Verizon then it will give you the option to download it again if it failed the first time. The phone will go automatically into recovery for you when the download is completed and accepted to install by you (user)

EDIT: GO BIG RED!!!!!!

The problem is his phone won't go into recovery. But by all means it won't hurt to try it again.

Tried again. The update did not even push to phone. And it says system is up to date. On ese81 build

I have heard that Verizon reps can push the update to your phone if it's having issues. Just tell them what you've told us. I don't know what else you can do.

Very strange. Let me ask you something? Have you ever had root access on your phone? I will help the best i can even if you are a "sooner" fan:icon_eek: and i am a "HUSKER" fan. :)

Oh yeah I have a question...See I was on Bugless Beast and I updated but it didn't update and the update isn't coming back even though I flashed his 2.1 sbf file. How do I get it to come back?

Got my OTA update Friday night

I'm in Atlanta, GA. Woke up Saturday morning with the update notice. Update went smoothly and I'm enjoying the new speed.

I've got a question. I haven't received the update yet (Phoenix, AZ), but my situation is perhaps a little bit unique, and I'm wondering if that will affect whether I will even get the update pushed to my Droid at all.

I bought my Droid two days after release, last November 8, 2009. Then since I wasn't eligible for an upgrade, I bought a Droid X at full retail, receiving it via FedEx and activating it on July 20. There were several issues with my new DX, so I chose to return it within the 30 day period, and re-activated my Droid on the same account, same phone number, on August 11.

So my question is, if anyone has any idea how this all works internally at Verizon, do you think I will actually receive the 2.2 update? Or is it possible that after after I deactivated my Droid and activated the DX, then re-activated my original Droid, that their records for update haven't caught up and perhaps the update won't even get pushed to me?

Anyone have any clues here on the details of how Verizon's system picks up on what accounts to push the update to? ... Thanks in advance.

go to menu>settings>about phone> system updates and touch the system updates tab and see if it prompts the download for you again. It should if your root is indeed gone.

My root is gone but no update. It just says the system is up to date.

Hold on there's some hope. It's weird, but if I go back to Bugless Beast it automatically downloads the OTA update like it did before. Now if only it would install...
