Just got the OTA for the Froyo update. I am running BB so it locked up when trying to install.

isn't the 45mb the size of the original "patch" update, but the latest one closer to 76mb or so?

I don't honestly know - it seems like people are reporting both file sizes. I do know that supposedly, the 45mb file is sort of like a "service pack" where only files that have changed are included.

The 76mb one supposedly contains a zip of the entire /system folder.

I am uncertain how VZW/Moto are determining which download each individual phone requires. But I suspect it has something to do with whether or not the person is running the official ESE81 2.1 build to start with. I believe the 45mb patch is ONLY ESE81-->FRG01B and the 76mb patch will take ANY version up to FRG01B.

I believe that is completely wrong...I was on 2.01, had to downgrade to get rid of SPrecovery, and I got an update all the way to 2.2 and it was only 45mb and FRG01B.

When does the 76mb build roll out and when is Flash available? I've been running some tests with FRG01B and it seems that the Market doesn't point to 2.2 App if they are 2.2 only. The Market only points to 2.2 app that are backwards compatible with older builds...

How dumb are the QA bubbas at VZW and Moto to not notice this?

We have the large file available for download now. Signed Verizon 2.2. It isn't anything different then the 45mb.

What they are suppose to be releasing is a second release that will make 2.2 perfectly capable to work with Flash. The Flash that isn't a beta, like the one everyone is running right now.

I wouldn't expect to see that at least for a couple weeks after the 18th.

Got it at 10 a.m. this morning, VA. Can apps now be stored on the sd card and do I have to move them manually?

No kidding. I have wanted 2.2 ota and have yet to get it. Though three other people i know have all received their updates...

Dude, that is so me! Who gets more excited about these things than me and I'm always having to wait until the end of the rollout. Still haven't gotten it.

And as much as adore you, handsome hookbill, don't EVEN go there :icon_ nono:: I'm such a "girlie girl" about tinkering with my beloved, sacred Droid. No!! I won't attempt to manually update unless I am utterly ignored in the OTA and am left with no choice. Too scared...

I looked around for this, but figured I would ask. Does the update wait till the phone is idle to do the download so it doesn't bog down the phone when you might need it?
