****Official FroYo Rollout Thread-Version2!****

Yeah, I really need to do some more work on that, but it's been less-than-ideal here lately...

Backups are covered in the thread, but if you need any help, drop me a line. :)

Got my FRG22D OTA update this morning. Seems to work ok, but haven't had enough time to really tell what kinds of effect its having yet. I previously had FRG01b manual install from the 79mb file.

1)I do hate the exchange policy enforcment, but I guess its an "improvment" for those not previously able to use it at work, due to polices. I'm trying touchdown to bypass it. I like my pattern unlock!

2) oh yeah, and it broke the default email clients connection to exchange. I get FC's when attempting to change settings or it just won't contact the server at all. Using Improved Email works, but gives me my gripe in the above #1 above.

Since getting the update my droid will not connect to my wireless AP in my house. I have not tried it anywhere else yet. Was working fine before the update. If I go into wifi settings and click on my network name and then click on connect, the Wi-Fi line at the top of that page flashes scanning then authenicating and then disconnected and the text under my network name goes from "Remembered, secured ...." to "Disabled, secured..."
Double-check the password you have entered. In fact, delete the profile and try again. If the problem persists try another AP. The drivers may have been borked in the update, but the most likely cause is a bad password/profile.

Finally had some more time to work on it and I fixed it. I had to change the linksys router security from WPA2 Personal to WPA Personal. Before the update WPA2 worked.

Got FRG22D today. Works OK. No issues on update so far. i.e. so far so good.
Got my OTA FRG22D @ 6:30am, this morning. No issues noticed and in fact screen responsiveness seems improved since initial 2.2 few weeks back. Had already manually installed flash after 2.2. No problem then or now ... MotoDroid1 in W. Blmfld, Michigan.

how many of you guys actually already have FRG01B or FRG22D???????

my droids been sitting with 2.1 update 1 forever.

I just got the FRG22 update 2 days ago. It automagically show up after I had manually update to FRG01B.

Noticed someone mentioned that they noticed improved screen performance... I agree, mine has improved dramatically. I also moved some applications to the SD card to free up more phone memory (not sure if that helped or not). After the upgrade, I also noticed that Adobe Flash Player 10.1 showed up in the Market (whereas it did not previously). I had manually installed Adobe Flash player (an earlier version). I uninstalled it and reinstalled the one from the market, seems to work a bit better. One drawback, I was able to tether before FRG22, now it invites me to pay for it.

Also, before FRG22, I had run Quadrant at a score of 785, ran with FRG22 and got 830. Maybe related to improved screen performance?

One question... does anyone know of a document that describes some of the new 2.2 features and how to use them?

No major problems yet.

lol. People amaze me.

Yes indeed I have a documentation of what this update did. You're probably going to be surprised: http://support.vzw.com/pdf/system_update/moto_droid.pdf

FRG22D was simply a small patch to enable you to see Flash 10.1 in the Market. It also had some security enhancements.

Anything beyond that, well, you know some people get cured taking sugar pills.;)

got my first froyo update after it bricked my phone and best buy fixed it. now i am waiting for the second one...:frown:

So as you can see OTA updates can brick phones. Everyone is afraid to install manually but you have a greater chance of something going wrong OTA.

Now that's not to say it happens frequently. Just that it happens.

Hey newfi I had the same issue and it was really frustrating me, especially knowing that nothing in my network had changed. But, I did find finally figure out how to connect my droid to my network once again. Just enter key one instead of your passphrase for the password to get onto your network. Not sure why it wanted that for the pass with the 2.2 update...since my wife's (identical) phone was happy with passphrase...but I will take it!

All I know is that any apps I have that show my location are all show different wrong locations. Don't see how this update could possibly have that effect.

wow that was real fast. how long will it take to make its way to our droids? the new up date has made my phone so slow. some time my home screens are not even there for about 2-3 whole seconds. All though Quadrant is telling me im running a 892. which is pretty good i guess. LinPack is giving me a 9.48. Why is the phone getting slow and caught up in the home screens?

GPS working perfectly before, now that I had the 2nd ota it can't figure out where I am. Open google maps and it shows me 200 miles from where I am. Eventually it will update to my location, but soon as I close the app it reverts back. Also my weather app shows me in one location and my browser shows a different one.

Went through every setting on the phone with verizon, even did a factory reset. Nothing fixed it. Their only suggestion is to send me a refurb.

If anyone else has any advise on this please let me know. My home router is on WEP (I know, boo-hiss).

I'm unable to connect, not sure why. But I was able to connect to a different WEP enabled router.

I tried a power reset of the router, no help. I've killed and remade the connection on the phone a bunch of times using the passphrase as well as the generated keys.

No idea what to try next.
