RAZR dropped, then Galaxy Neuxus, Then RAZR Agian:)

Glad to see there hasn't been to many Nexus barber's come here yet. Its sad, really. We're all on the same page which is Android. User experience varies for every phone. Since the Nexus was supposed to be the phone of all phones and was hyper boosted over the internet, it's bugs are brought out to be more horrid then say.. if the LG Revolution had these same problems. Similar to the Bionic release in September.

However, the Nexus bugs are being sorted out with roms and we're seeing less and less posts about them. But take in mind this is after rooted. So stock owners are still going to find these problems. Personally, I've seen none minus bad battery when I first got the phone as well as bad reception the first day. But now the phone is perfect to me and getting better due to the amazing dev support.

Get the phone that suits YOU more without bashing other phones. Criticism and telling experiences is one thing, bashing other phones however is just childish.

This whole Nexus vs Rezound vs Razr debate is making us look like Apple, or even completly brainwashed Android fan boys making fun of competition blindly.

You hit the nail on the head. The Nexus is basically the development phone people been asking for. The purpose of the nexus is for google to test software before sending it to other oems. tests will have bugs but we are seeing a lot of the bugs basically gone with a few here and there. Every device so far has had its fair share of bugs . Its up to you what you consider acceptable or not.

Apparently you haven't noticed all the Bionic/RAZR trolls going around then.

X

Honestly I just noticed the bionic trolls and although I'm very opinionated with my views I don't go lurking in other sections other than for the android phones my wife and kids have whenever they have problems with their phones.

Mines not floppy nor do I see a reason to take the back apart nor do I educate myself on YouTube to be dumb enough to take it apart. Maybe you should read up how Kevlar is more durable than plastic is other than being a YouTube doctorate graduate.

The YouTube videos aren't a bunch of idiots taking apart their phones. Most of these type of videos are people that get paid to do so. These videos are to show if hyped up features of the phones truly help are or just gimmicks for advertising. I doubt most normal people are just going to take apart their razrs and act like they know what they're talking about. It is possible, though.

I personally haven't seen the videos, I'm just pointing that little fact out. Take it with a grain of salt.

Everything. You would have to see an Aosp gingerbread rom to really see.

Barely noticeable in my side by side comparison of my Razr to the GN. If someone can point out specifics it would lend some credibility to this issue, but if the GN is truly a "pure" experience then Blur is minimal, very minimal, almost undetectable.

Google is going to test software on a phone they release once a year so Motorola and HTC who release 30 a year and have absolutely nothing to do with Google can have perfect operating systems? I think you hit the nail on the head!

(Sarcasm again in case you didn't get it?)

Well just all the Verizon crapware along with the moto crapware is enough for the phone to not be a Google experience. Nexus has two apps both of which you can hide without hacking your phone.

Blur is a skin. I can tell when I'm using the phone that it has blur on it. Just like sense. Touchwiz and so on. And all those skins are pointless they just bug the phone down.

But Google didnt make the phone....they just provided the OS. Samsung made the phone... There could be bugs just because its made by Samsung. No one really knows right now. And now all of a sudden Samsung only releases only 1 phone a year? What about other Samsung phones that wont be stock Android? And wasnt Sense UI, before ICS came out considered the smoothest Android experience by some, if not most ppl? And the latest versions of Blur didnt get better on the Bionic and RAZR? Or all the ppl liking the newest version of Blur are wrong....

If a Nexus phone isnt a test phone for stock Android...than what is? The ADP 1 and 2? Those 2 ancient HTC phones? Thats exactly what being a dev phone means. The G Nex having waaay more up to date specs than the ADP 1 and 2 is the perfect test phone for stock ICS. The Nexus One and Nexus S are a lil older in hardware too.

If putting up with a few apps that I never see or use, since they can be hidden in the app drawer, is what is considered Blur, it's a joke for people to say it's a big deal.

So the "pure " experience and what I see on my Razr are basically the same, but because it's not "pure", it's an issue? That's too funny.

I'll ask again, what is "Blurred" on my Razr so I can begin to differentiate the two.

And BTW, there is no way whatsoever that you can compare Blur to Sense and Touchwiz. Sense and Touchwiz are obvious from the second you pick up the phone and are intertwined throughout the OS. Blur isn't.

That's like comparing humans to whales because they are both mammals.

Just go see some clips of the Nexus One and S with Gingerbread on Youtube. All I will say is between Blur, Sense UI and Touchwiz....Blur is the closest to stock Android than any of them. If Moto woulda left the lock screen alone on the Droid X1...it still woulda had the stock Android lock screen.

Blur is alot different than what was on the DX1. Blur on there was more closer to stock than whats on the Bionic and RAZR.

Honestly, these devices are too expensive and should be treated as such, if you have to resort to a video on YouTube to take your phone apart, you shouldn't take your phone apart, would you tear your engine apart to get to a cracked head gasket based on a video? No, its way too much of a headache if you screw something up or lose something, not to mention it can be quite costly (especially since a brand new device costs as much as a good used engine!)

Have you been to Wally World lately... Humans to whales is not that bad a comparison ...

Doesn't matter who made the phone. They work together with Samsung to make it. Its a nexus phone meaning its a Google phone. Besides Samsung has been making the best phones recently anyway so if anything this is the best of both worlds.

This phone will always be updated. The razr will be ancient history next month when the d4 comes out and some other cool Motorola phone with another catchy name like a bionic, razr, or terminator comes out.
