[ROM] ApeX 1.3.1 for Droid X - Running, running, as fast as it can (12/16/10)

Ok so i tried overclocking my phone, but i must've set the frequency too high and it now reboots constantly. i tried doing a factory reset by formatting the data and the cache, but it still loads up ApeX 1.3.1 and continues to reboot. Any Ideas?

did you happen to make any backups via rom manager/bootstrapper? if not, you may have to sbf. in the future, when you are trying a new overclock setting, i would recommend not having anything set at boot until you've run it for a while to make sure it is stable

I made a backup using bootstrapper. how would i be able to restore it?

see fab's post above

For any that might be interested, here is what my x looks like now with 3 screens. :). If there is anything I can help you with, feel free to pm me. Fab, you really have made me the happiest man right now.

In the second screen is that extended controls for toggling?
What app is that for your volume levels that is slick?

I don't think either the AOSP or Blur MMS apps have issues sending MMS, it's just when you use Handcent, it needs the Blur app as the "native" system app to send MMS.

I think that trying a *228 may be the best route to try to fix the issue.

If you do inadvertently get stuck in a boot loop because of overclocking too high, if you can get into Clockwork still, you can delete the bootup file that defines overclocking through adb. You'll need to have the phone plugged in first, pull the battery when it bootloops, and put it back in and you should be in Clockwork (assuming you bootstrapped recovery). Then, go to mounts and mount system. Then in adb:

rm /system/etc/install-recovery.sh

And it won't apply the overclock settings at boot anymore.

Do i pull the battery when the Motorola logo pops up?
I formatted my data and cache so i no longer have the bootstrapper recovery app. I can't download it either because my phone reboots after 30 seconds or so. I made a backup using bootstrapper, but can i still access and restore it?

hey what's that volume widget?

Hey. The volume widget is called 'AudioManager Widget.' I really like it because it allows me to visually realize what the volume settings are whether i am in meetings or outside and whatnot.

Here is the appbrain link for it. If you have Barcode Scanner, you can install it directly from the webpage.

Yeah, try it. Even if you clear data and cache, the bootstrapper hijack file may still be there, since it's installed on /system

You need to manually set those. You can set custom icons with ADW Launcher by picking up a homescreen shortcut and dropping it in the exact same spot.

My problem with that (the naming) is that Once I change the image and names, it stays like that Until I reboot or power off and on. The icon will be whatever I assign, but the name/text of the icon will revert back to what it was before. Any solution to that?

Are you using extended contols to toggle the connections?

Thanks

just went from 1.3.0 to 1.3.1 with no real problems.
The first time I forgot to wipe market and voice updates and Voice Search kept force closing. So i restored my backup, uninstalled market updates, and then just wiped voice search data (no option for update uninstall) and then reinstalled 1.3.1

Right now everything seems to be working superb. I just reinstalled 3G hotspot and am currently patching it, as well as installing the no-clock mod.
