Not to sound like a duche bag but has anyone complaining of sucking battery life actually performed a usage test using a battery life app. Well im going to assume no and inform you that I have using juice plotter. And versus the ota, flyx, and apex they are all about the same. Apex was a little better but they all lasted more than a day on a single charge. Now you can adjust what is done for data via battery manager and data manger in the phone. Playing with these will help. I use ultimate juice and it has doubled my battery life. You can believe what you will on this app I know it works and have been using it on droid and droid x. Also I use setcpu to undrclock my x when battery is below 50%

Edit: please don't say your phone was asleep and did nothing and went dead. I don't buy it odds are your a widget and media hog and your phone dies because you use it to it's fullest. Nothing wrong with that just don't blame a good rom for something that is just out rageous. And if it did happen take your battery back because its junk

For comparison:

I restored the .15 leak last night. Today, exact same apps installed (including Beautiful widgets + weather wallpaper) and I've been unplugged for 7 hours and 15 minutes. I'm still at 80% battery life. On RC2 yesterday at this time I was at 50%.

Don't get defensive and start assuming people are "widget hogs". I couldn't care less about IdiotBook/etc, I am not concerned with "look at me!" social sites, I have a life. :) My battery does not need to go back, it's obviously working fine and since other people are reporting the same issue, it most likely real, even if you can't see it yourself.

In this case, I will blame the ROM and I don't have any qualms about it... IT'S AN RC, THERE WILL BE ISSUES.

Cheers.

I have loaded every rom available for the DX and I have had the BEST battery life with this ROM over anything I've previously loaded.

The hardware is the same for everyone.
The rom is the same for everyone.
Yet we all seem to get different battery life.
So what's different?
The apps.. everyone runs a different setup on top of this rom.
and that is where the issue lies.

So don't blame the rom. It's YOUR individual setup, that is causing poor battery life.

@Fab - when i go into the contacts widget and swipe to the right, you can get everyone's status updates, but with this rom, it never works.
and if you swipe to the left, you can get some other sort of history, I think that is not working either.
Any idea what is required to make that work?

If we were on RC1 do we still have to do the mount system step or can we skip this step? I know you say we can skip the format data/cache deal just making sure

Curious

So I've been running this RC2 for a couple days and the overall speed of it is awesome. However I just ran a benchmark using Quadrant and score only 916:icon_eek::icon_eek: I get 1300+ w the OTA 2.2, is there a reason it scores so low? I thought it would be higher than the OTA

Update: So after a reboot I ran another benchmark and hit 1417, faster than the OTA. Not sure what caused the first (and second) to run so low but it seems to be up where I thought i might be nowdancedroid

I notice that my phone get slower and slower without rebooting, so now i do benchmark after i do a reboot. So i can get a better score.

I'm not sure if the reboot had anything to do with the score. I haven't noticed any slow down in my phone. The only reason I rebooted was because I wanted to double check that the OTA was getting a 1300+ score (which it is). Then I restored RC2

Well i have this experience with my computers, if i don't restart for two three days its slower so i do a restart and it fix the problem same goes to phone. Don't restart ur phone for 3 to 5 days and do a benchmark look at the score, now once u do the benchmark do a restart on ur phone and do another benchmark i bet it will score will be better when u do a restart.

I'll try that in a few days then see what happens. Regardless this ROM has been absolutely brilliant. Awesome work Fab:icon_ banana:

Anyone else having issues with their bluetooth headsets not staying connected? I am having issues getting mine to pair, then when it does pair, it doesn't always stay connected. This is a new issue since I installed this ROM.

Please read..... The apps were identical (titanium backup, FTW). One has bad battery life, the other two ROMs (.13 and 15) are fine on my two DX's, and on both of my DX's this ROM was very poor. Hard to blame my apps when the same install on the other ROM on the same device is much better.

Well Fab all I could say is if you can get the facebook to sync the pictures with the contacts it would be the best. I noticed though there are two contacts screens, the blur contacts and the aosp contacts. If you hit dialer you have the contacts that have the phone next to it for calling, but if you go to contacts the same menu is different with no phone for calling.

Facebook syncing works. Did you add your account in "My Accounts"? Use the smaller icon. It may take some time to sync and download all the images.

might be jumping onto the apex rom, from the rubix line, because rubix 1.0 doesn't let ya have 3g hotspot or backup assistant :/

I'm running this rom on 2 DX's and getting a FULL days use out of my phones both with medium (many txt, emails, facebook updates.. etc)
off the charger at 7-8am and back on around 10pm-midnight
both phones have plenty of juice left by the time we put them on the charger at night.
it's the best rom so far for us
