[ROM] ApeX for Droid X - An AOSP Experience

More importantly though, my battery life still stinks. I had the phone disconnected for 10 hours so far today and took exactly 0 calls and didn't even look at the phone for more than 2 minutes to verify the panorama pictures and VM button and I'm at 20%. Basically, it sat and sync'd my gmail all day with the screen off. Hate to say it, but I think I'm going to have to go back to one of the other builds I was using and get my battery life back. If this gets straightened out, I'll check it again.

I have to unfortuneately agree. I LOVE the performace of the rom, best so far, but even after RC2 ihave my phone die before bed every time and that has never happened before. I also have left it alone and see it go down too fast. It might be gmail, it might be the activesync to exchange, but something keeps sucking that power down.
Fab, did you overclock it? lol. that would acutally make sense hehe.
Anyway, I have faith in Fab getting to the bottom of this, but i will probably have to go back to ota or the slower roms out there until it gets resolved.

Not to sound like a duche bag but has anyone complaining of sucking battery life actually performed a usage test using a battery life app. Well im going to assume no and inform you that I have using juice plotter. And versus the ota, flyx, and apex they are all about the same. Apex was a little better but they all lasted more than a day on a single charge. Now you can adjust what is done for data via battery manager and data manger in the phone. Playing with these will help. I use ultimate juice and it has doubled my battery life. You can believe what you will on this app I know it works and have been using it on droid and droid x. Also I use setcpu to undrclock my x when battery is below 50%

Edit: please don't say your phone was asleep and did nothing and went dead. I don't buy it odds are your a widget and media hog and your phone dies because you use it to it's fullest. Nothing wrong with that just don't blame a good rom for something that is just out rageous. And if it did happen take your battery back because its junk

Are there directions on installing the NexTheme?

Place zip on root of sd card. Boot into recovery, clear cache, go to mounts and storage, mount system, then install zip from sd card, choose zip, find .zip for nextheme, install. reboot. hope that helps

can't get my device to show up as a mtp usb device to transfer sync music from rhapsody. Works with fly x as I reverted to try, any suggestions?

Is there anyway to get backup assistant to work on this? Everyone seems to remove it. Is there another way to get my contacts back, or to transfer them through sbf?

Transfer through sbf? That's crazy talk. Do you not have your contacts syncing to gmail? That's by far the easiest and most integrated method.

Just about everything syncs for me without any added apps, to the point where I only use titanium on the apps I NEED the data for (really about 3 apps). Contacts, mail, calendar etc all come on their own for me, and pics/vids are on SD, so no loss there.

Google phone = loves google services.

So I installed the new rc2 and I haven't applied the nextheme like I did with rc1. Now my question is is there any way to get that widget that let's me change the ringer mode back without applying nextheme? Also I am loving rc2 everything seems so much faster.

Quick question. I am not getting the notification LED for emails. Is there a setting I am missing?

Edit: It appears my email (the app that is called email), is not giving me a notification light, nor is showing up in the status bar, even with the box checked. My GMail does this.

Edit 2: Also, in the account settings, the check box 'default email' remains checks, even after unchecking and exiting the menu.

For comparison:

I restored the .15 leak last night. Today, exact same apps installed (including Beautiful widgets + weather wallpaper) and I've been unplugged for 7 hours and 15 minutes. I'm still at 80% battery life. On RC2 yesterday at this time I was at 50%.

Don't get defensive and start assuming people are "widget hogs". I couldn't care less about IdiotBook/etc, I am not concerned with "look at me!" social sites, I have a life. :) My battery does not need to go back, it's obviously working fine and since other people are reporting the same issue, it most likely real, even if you can't see it yourself.

In this case, I will blame the ROM and I don't have any qualms about it... IT'S AN RC, THERE WILL BE ISSUES.

Cheers.

There is a full OTA 2.2 SBF out there, which a lot of guys have verified. I downloaded it last night.

It was leaked a few days ago. Do a Google search.
