[ROM] ApeX for Droid X - An AOSP Experience

Is it just me, or are the icons in the email app all screwy (see attached)? Also, where's the "move" option for exchange email?

I also have the email icon issue. I'm in v1.0. Any fix?

In addition, if I have pattern lock enabled, and set to turn on at any time other than "when screen is off", I will often get a restart after sliding the tab and before the pattern is shown.this doesn't happen if its set to when screen is off or if pattern lock is disabled.

I'm relieved that I'm not the only one seeing this. I might see if I can Ninjamorph the right icons into the apk. If I have any success I'll upload my work.

Awesome. If you want an upload password for my hosting, send me a private message

Is it possible to remove the transparent notification shade? There's just something about it I've never liked, I'd like to be able to switch it back to the vanilla Droid one from RC1.

can i root stock OTA 2.2, boostrap recovery, and then install this through nandroid or something or do i have to be coming from rooted 2.1?

If you root your OTA 2.2 and install bootstrap, you can install this ROM by following the directions in the OP.

In fact, all 2.2 ROMs require you to be on 2.2 anyways besides the initial 2.3.9 leak, which installed the 2.2 kernel as well.

Nobody try installing this coming from 2.1 please :)

This is a question for Fab. Or other ppl who us runnin this ROM, after installin this ROM and I want to have the NexTheme, what's the process of installin the theme. Do I go into clockwork recovery, wipe Cache and install NexTheme zip?

If I want the theme and the rom, do I install the ROM then the theme or does the theme zip contain the ROM?

Thanks!

depending on which you have "Droid X Bootstrapper" or either "ROM managers"

flash your back up of your stock, then from there format Data and Cache and and install the Apex ROM(i did it this way and everything install succesfully. i did this thru DX Bootstrapper)

flashin back to your stock is recommanded, before installin a entirely different Rom.

So I just installed v1 after having RC1 on my phone for almost a month (I know, I know...) and I can't seem to get the bluetooth to work properly. I'm able to get my jawbone to connect, and my jawbone will read off the incoming call's number, but the audio from the call itself just won't come through it, it's always through the handset. The bluetooth option in the dialer starts as off, but turning it on does not correct the problem. Any ideas for me?

That's odd...have you tried a different kernel?

Nope, looking into it now.
Update: I used the 2.2 SBF that was released to update my phone to the latest kernel (right?), reset the phone to factory settings, rooted, and then flashed ApeX, but the bluetooth earpiece didn't work. Then I flashed Rubix to see if it would work under that, and it did. So unless I haven't quite understood what I've done, the only difference should be the ROM itself, so it would appear that ApeX just doesn't like my Jawbone.

Good day gents.
Running apex v1. Started out with rc from the day it was posted.
Had an issue with over clocking but turned out to be my own fault.
I was trying to use dx d2 on top of the built in oc.
The Apex rom is great i see no reason to change it other then.
Like in a cartoon, Don't push that red button lol.
I want to push it!

Ok, I picked up clockworks and it's killing me.
Apex is called out as premium,I'll buy that to.
Options in clockwork to dl roms and other features.
Because i'm a noob I want to ask.
Do you guys flashout roms all the time, change up often.
Aslo if i'm running Fadolous theme Rev.
Can we use other themes.
Use apps like open home and such.
Thanks guys I just don't want to mess it up.

You can install whatever apps you want.

If you installed a theme, you can also install another over it, but if they have apps that don't overlap, you may get a Frankenstein theme mixture ;)
