[ROM] ApeX for Droid X - An AOSP Experience

So I just flashed and I am getting Network Errors on browser and market also market only restored 4 apps along with my paid apps. Whats the deal. I *228 with no luck either.

***Edit***
Ok I just formated system, data, cache again and reflashed and it seems to be working this time. Last time I did that but flashed the hotfix right away before even booting into the rom this time I flashed and booted then flashed hotfix. IDK weird stuff but seems to be ok now.

I tried the email apk and followed the instructions. Im still not able to sync.

Not sure if it matters, but its an owa exhange account. I can get the white box exchange account to connect to the server fine, but then when I hit finish it wont show the actual account in my accounts page. I then get a notification in the task bar saying this account needs security permissions. Im guessing that's our corp server wanting to push security policies down to my phone, however I have no window prompt asking me yes or no. The notification eventually disappears. If I tap on it, it disappears and nothing happens.

Sigh.

I really wish we could figure out the bog standard corp sync. One more day without it and i'll have no choice but to revert back to my backup 2.2. : (

Again, im willing to pay anyone able to get this working! That's how much I love this rom.

hmm, thats strange because just for the hell of it, I loaded apex onto my X to see if I could find the problem. I set up exchange just fine through the corporate exchange (white) app, not corp sync. Remember that a \ has to be before your user name, and make sure the server is setup correctly. Initially when I set it up, the server is missing the webmail before the rest. After that you have to click on the security settings to set up a pin or password to use. It's mandatory and I have yet to find away around this. Once you do that it should be good to go, give a couple of minutes, then click on the email app go to inbox and refresh it. It's strange that it's not working for you guys

Street view is an app in the market.

I'll look into the email issues when I get home tonight.

As long as you're already on 2.2, you can install this rom.

Just be sure to follow the directions, especially the part about formatting and mounting while in Clockwork recovery.

Please tell me if I can install your rom with a themed FlyX. I don't want to brick my device upgrading to your rom.

Sincerely, your help and work is greatly appreciated. I'll wait for your findings.

Awesome ROM!! I was badly missing my Nexus One - which I gave to my wife when I bought the DX. With this ROM I've been able to create the exact experience I had on the N1 with Beaut Wigits and LauncherPro, but with the benefit of the DX HW.

Keep up the great work!

Can anyone recommend a good transparent notifications screen theme to work with this ROM?

The street view that's in the market is different than the oem one that comes with Google maps, which in my opinion is not as good as the stock

Downloaded rom and now bootstrap recovery wont boot into recovery. When I do it manually it doesn't have a backup restore option so I can't restore my data. I really don't want to redo everything manually. Any help would be appreciated

Did you grant it root permissions and bootstrap the recovery first before trying to boot into recovery?

Fab... your existing REVOlution Theme (if loaded) causes the double/triple text message problem. The ROM by itself doesn't. (and I did turn off the stock messaging notifications and all the regular stuff, there is no fix for it unless you delete conversations.apk, trust me I've had this problem before and know everything about it) I know you said you were going to work on a Porting those themes to this ROM. But I thought you should know that something in that theme causes that problem that way you could examine it further and maybe figure out what it is. I installed "Blackbar modz" on this theme and it worked great, didn't mess up anything. Again, thanks man, this is a great ROM...

P.S. I tend to run on when I'm on Hydrocodone... I messed up my knee and I've got 2 pills in me right now... life is good, and I'm surprised I can still spell.

Blackmodz in ROM Manager under "Onix Concepts" is what I'm using... of course it makes the top bar black, it also make the notification drop down transparent too... it looks great with this ROM especially once FAB themed the keyboard in black.

FAB... why did you post this here mainly instead of over at Android Forums... just use to seeing you there... no biggie... just having to bounce between forums to check both threads.

Using this ROM right now and damn is it fast. I also love the graphical changes made, their aren't many but they do look nice!

I think quite a few people would like it if you could include an optional update.zip that gives you a transparent notification shade thingy (sorry lol)
