im not 100% positive on this but did you do factory reset from the phone or bootstrap because i think the only way to back to 2.2 ota is to turn phone off and the power hold holding the camera button or home button or some button to open the built in Motorola recovery and from there select factory reset or something like that again not 100% sure if thats how you go back a stock phone
I wouldn't try it with out some more confident and backed up info

Yea i held vol down, held home and power and did a factory reset. When done, didn't ask me to activate but did ask me what account to use and such for those app like gmail and such. I also tried held cam, home and swithc takes me the same place so theres actually two ways + bootstrap. LOL

I could be wrong - but I don't think I am. A factory reset is not going to restore your phone to stock ota 2.2. When you "flashed this rom" (can you tell I came from WinMo) you replaced the factory image with this custom image. So when you perform a reset/wipe data - all you are doing is restoring to the ApeX image.
To go back to 2.2 OTA you have to have your nandroid backup that you made before you flashed ApeX.
Someone please correct me if I am wrong bc I am new to android. This is how windows worked.
There is a partial 2.2 sbf. It was called a "system sbf". I would definitely do some research before using it. I will look for the link...
TBH announces Froyo System SBF and RSDLite 4.8
please do not use this just bc I pointed it out. I would hate for you to brick your phone. But here is some info to get you started if you are interested. I bet the OP would know if you could use this "system sbf" to restore to 2.2 ota state. Not sure how active the original thread is.
good luck.
