[ROM] [ROM] ApeX V1.4.1 for Droid X & Droid 2 - Refinement and Ease of Use (2/22/2011)

I Apologize for confusion. I also use the autokiller task manager or whatever it is called. I set my settings on there to be aggressive.

As far as the jrummy's app, I use medium voltage 1.1, 900, 700, 400. I found that to be the best combination of performance and battery. On the quadrant test, I get over 1600, which is enough to satisfy me. :)

Task managers outside of the built in one drain your battery faster. If your amazed at how long you get now try without the task manager.

Yeah thats the one. I keep it at medium voltage. 1.1, 900, 700, 400. Perfect blend of performance and battery. Here is a shot of my overclock profile, if you are interested.

Nice, how do you got your OC set at boot..?

You may be right but I have never had any problems with autokiller. Plus I love the ability to kill an app by one touch.

I actually use it every time I restart the phone. Kill the apps that boot up but are not in use (ie. Finance, skype, rom manager, droidforums, facebook...) I like to use these apparently but only when I click on them. I don't like to have them run in background. Autokiller does that job for me by killing the idling unnecessary apps. :)

I set a shortcut to running services for that, works better imo....

How do u set up your profiles?

[Sent using Smoke Signals!!!]

By clicking the options to apply on boot (see image). Also make sure to go in "set frequencies at boot" option on main screen and set the frequency there. Click "yes" to the popup.

Follow these steps:

1) open the Droid Overclock app
2) click "Set scaling frequencies"
3) select the desired frequency you are interested in. I would advise against going ULV as they have been known to cause problems.
4) once you select the frequency, hit back twice to go back to the main menu.
5) select "set frequencies at boot" then select "yes".
6) now go and select the same frequency you selected. Once you do that, hit back button twice to go back to main menu
7) now go to "CPU frequency Scaling"
8) select "apply on boot"
9) click "Profiles"
10 set your profiles as you like, you can add them by clicking "+add profile". Under the popup, select "condition" and it will give you wide variety of selections.

11) once you set the profiles the way you wanted, keep on hitting the back button until you exit the app.
12) finally, restart the phone. all done.

It seems like long steps, but trust me, it only takes 3 minutes.

1) it has hdmi support. YES. However, you have to use blur gallery app to have your pics show through hdmi cuz AOSP gallery does not support that for some reason. The video player can automatically detect hdmi and transfers the video. You can switch between blur gallery and AOSP gallery very easily through the ApexToolbox, through terminal emulator. You can actually have both installed too.

2) It does NOT come installed with 3G hotspot, BUT again with Apex Toolbox, it gives you the option to install it. It will install it for you.

Once you have the rom installed, go to "Terminal Emulator". Then FIRST, update your toolbox (only have to do that ONCE in a while, since fab updates the toolbox) Then launch the following to get to Apextoolbox. The following commands should do just that:

su
updatetb
apextoolbox

From here, it will list many options. Once you fumble around with it a bit, you will find the 3G hotspot. Also play around with AOSP and Blur Gallery. If you have any questions or want help, holler me or many of the veterans here through PM. I don't always check this thread so sometimes I dont see a post, but i do get PM through emails.

Hi all... Fab great job on this ROM! I've been running Stock Deodexed and decided to give this a shot and man it feels good! Thanks!
Question... for some reason I dont get the boot up sound. Anyone know why I wouldnt? I actually want the sound because I want to make my own .mp3 to use as the boot up. Thoughts? Thanks Fab Crew
