Well, I got the replacement droid this morning. Downloaded z4mod and rooted this one. Went to bootstrap recovery and got my last backup which was 1.31. I think I know what I did wrong. The last thing I tweeked on 1.4 was to remove the clock display from the top bar. The message said that the reboot was to take 5 min but we know what happened lol. Kinda hesitant on reinstalling 1.4 again but Fab is still the man! Thanks for all the advice folks!!!

How can I use the AOSP Text Messaging program and the Blur Email program. The old scripts let me select each individually, now it seems I can only use all blur or all aosp...

In the 1.3.1 version of Apex....Fab had included his ADW preferences in the toolbox. Are they still available? I tried "su" and "fabadw"....but it didn't work. Perhaps it's buried somewhere else?

Where is the Apex tool box in app store

Please read the entire post Fab posted first before asking. If you read it, you would have seen that the apex toolbox can be accessed by:

1) click on Terminal Emmulator under your apps list
2) type:

su

apextoolbox

Here is his exact line: "Toolbox: You can access the toolbox by following these three steps - open terminal emulator, type su and hit enter, type apextoolbox and hit enter."

Also, make sure you have an updated version of apextoolbox when you do it first time. You can update the toolbox by typing "updatetb" (without the quotes) after typing su. Then type apextoolbox.

make sure to fumble around in all of the menus before asking as pretty much all of the questions regarding the toolbox can be answered by just peeking through all of the menu choices.

I don't know about you or everyone, but if your not sure about something wipe and reinstall the rom. After! just simply set-up everything back up from scratch, flashing backups from pervious setup's is where most ppl encounter problems. Or when they get lazy and rely on Titanium backup (experienced first hand..haha)..i know Fab said that flashing over 1.3.1 is alright, this is true for most, but not for the majority of the posters in here..

Flash a backup of your stock rom, then flash the rom...

I second what DB86 said. I would advise clean install. I first installed 1.4 over 1.3.1 and ran into the phone being a bit slow. So I wiped and reinstall the rom. The phone is soo much faster.

Also, if you are taking your time to wipe, flash, and reinstall a rom, why not spend 15 more minutes in reinstalling all your apps rather than doing titanium backup? Typically all of your data is backed up by google on its servers and it knows what apps you have from market, so when you first boot up, Google reinstalls all your apps FOR you along with the data for it.

Some of the aftermarket apps, you might have to reinstall, but you should keep their apk files in a folder on your sdcard for that reason. For me, installing 6 aftermarket apps (real hdmi, leaked music player, and couple others) took literally 5 minutes.

Trust me (us), it is worth spending 15-20 extra minutes reinstalling apps rather than restoring them with titanium backup.

just my 2

Okay...
If you don't have terminal emulater download it from the market...Its free

Then simply type "su"
Like this..

Then hit enter.. This gives you superuser permission..

..now type "updatetb" and select "y" for yes..this updates the toolbox

After type "apextoolbox" and hit enter..like so...

From there browse your way around as you like and changes to you'r liking..
....if you want there's a link in the OP to fab's wiki page for help
