[ROM] [ROM] ApeX V1.4.1 for Droid X & Droid 2 - Refinement and Ease of Use (2/22/2011)

i wish i could report the amazing battery life everyone seems to be claiming...

Honestly, my battery life is terrible.... Today i got a little over 9 hours before i had to recharge with moderate use (with an extended battery). I just dont understand what i am doing wrong :(

This rom is great but i feel like i would need two extended batteries to enjoy it.

What is using up all the battery? Go into battery manager and click on the battery.

Try to wipe the cache of gmail or even accounts under applications. Even try uninstalling updates and then to to the market to reinstall. Otherwise look in the gmail app for notification settings or delete and re make the account.

While we're talking about GMail, any one notice the update broke the stock GB theme icon for Gmail? The notification icon.

Thanks for the tips but i tried all that, still nothing. In accounts the sync icon is still there and it starts to sync then just freezes.....

Update: the old sync now then battery pull when it gets to gmail worked like a charm....and reminded me of my old lg dare. Nostalgic

Go into the toolbox and go into option 1 and there should be messaging in there. You need to choose to install one of the programs, or uninstall one. Just play around and it should work.

Edit:
Type this in terminal

su
apextoolbox
1
6
(then pick 1 for AOSP and 2 for Motorola)

Just so you know Fab, I went to the toolbox (newest version) to enable the legacy boot animation (android logo) and after trying 3 times now, it just boots with a black screen until the OS is up and running. I changed it back to the Apex one in the toolbox and that works fine still.

Did you leave out the old boot animation file or something?

EDIT: Also, does the update from 1.4.0 to 1.4.1 (without wiping cache or data or anything) not save certain toolbox settings or something? For instance, my homescreen icon for blur text messaging is now telling me it cannot launch the activity. I had to change it back to the blur suite in the toolbox then it fixed the app and shortcut.

Otherwise, so far so good. No FCs at startup! :) Thanks.

The toolbox does this. The ROM .zip file has the AOSP set to default. So when you updated and flashed it had the AOSP messaging, which is why it couldn't find the blur. So all the toolbox's defaults were applied when you updated. It has nothing to do with cache or data.

Okay, thanks..easy enough. Basically what I figured. Now just need an answer to the boot animation issue..
