[ROM] [ROM] ApeX V1.4.1 for Droid X & Droid 2 - Refinement and Ease of Use (2/22/2011)

i wish i could report the amazing battery life everyone seems to be claiming...

Honestly, my battery life is terrible.... Today i got a little over 9 hours before i had to recharge with moderate use (with an extended battery). I just dont understand what i am doing wrong :(

This rom is great but i feel like i would need two extended batteries to enjoy it.

I'm with you on this one. My battery lasted only 11 hours yesterday before it completely died on me. I left the phone off and charged it last night, wiped battery stats this morning and after 3 hours I've already dropped 20%. If I can't figure what is killing my battery, might have to go stock and use Tibu to freeze apps I don't like etc.

I think that "Moderate Use" depends on each phone and it's owner. One person's can use twitter, facebook, the net, have numerous widgets updating on seven pages of their phone, have screen brightness up to 40% while listening to their radio and they would consider that "Moderate Use". And then they wonder why their battery is dropping down so quickly.

I am happy that my phone is light use (barely texting, occasional twitter read/updates, little internet when not at computer which is rare) and my phone will last from 10am to midnight without requiring plugging in. That's on the weekends.

When I am at work, such as now, I have running:

SiriusXM
Twitter updating every 15 min
Random internet use when I don't want to use my work computer
Screen Brightness at 30%
GMail
Lookout
Handcent SMS (texting pretty often)
Five widgets, two of which are constantly updating ~ every 15 min

And that is "Moderate Use" for me and I run at about approximately 10% every hour. With that all said, my normal battery is running MUCH better than it does at stock. I just think that people need to take their personal usage into perspective and (as said by others before) they need to remember that each phone/battery is different.

Just my $.02 :D

Love the ROM!!!!!!

Running ulv 1.0 .and Edited dalvik vm to 55 and max events to 75 .. screaming fast.! Will these setting s. Cause any harm? Best boot animation thus far

I've done this after each fresh install of Apex and my phone is running fine. Installed LPP to system, removed Blur Home and ADW launcher.

Has anyone tried removing the blur launcher and/or adw launcher via the toolbox. I'm almost positive that once I remove the blur launcher my phone starts going ubber slow.

I'm trying to narrow down exactly what's causing it, but I'm 99% sure its the blur launcher. I wonder if something is dependent on it and constantly freaking out after its gone.

I use LPP, so I figured I don't need the other two installed.

Could LPP to system make any difference?

Is there a way to change the Verizon wireless logo in the notification pull down like in liberty 1.5? And if not will it be incorperated into future version of apex? That was one of my favorite features in liberty.

Really digging this version of apex, thanks fab.

Battery performance !!

I also notice that my battery on 1.4 last longer than at 1.4.1 with previous version from 100 % to 90% would last me 3hrs .. now is like 1 1/2 .. that the only difference still gives me good battery life not as good as 1.4 ..... over all The RoM is Great!!dancedroid

This was my first attempt at a rom change. Went very smooth, thanks to all!! Im liking it very much. Awesome job!:greendroid:

FOR THOSE WIPING BATTERY STATS AND GETTING BAD BATTERY LIFE:

Make sure you are doing this:
-Plug your phone in and let it charge to 100%
-Boot into CW Recovery
-Advanced
-Wipe Battery Stats
-Unplug your phone and then click yes
-Reboot
-DON'T PLUG YOUR PHONE IN AT ALL
-Let it die completely
-Keep it turned off and charge it untill it is 100%
-Then you should be good to go. Hopefully that helps with battery life.

I did it last night, I'll post a picture of my battery usage later tonight when I get to/around 15%.

Edit: Nevermind. My phone just rebooted... I was at 19 hours with 40%. I turn 3g off when not using and it was on over night while I slept (7-8 hours).

I'm sorry to ask this, but is it possible installing a theme over the stock rom...can that cause a drop on signal bars? Because I just installed this and i had full bars all around the house and i simply installed a theme ,and now i'm running on edge does switch to 3g ones in a while but mostly stays on edge..

Die you install a theme from the Toolbox or one that is compatible with ApeX?

-Toggle airplane mode and then turn it off and see if you have 3g when the signal comes back.
-Go for a drive, yes. I know. It sounds dumb. But it works. Drive a couple of miles. It could be the network just went down in your area. So maybe nothing is wrong.
-Reinstall the theme.
