[ROM] [ROM] ApeX V1.4.1 for Droid X & Droid 2 - Refinement and Ease of Use (2/22/2011)

Having a bit of a wierd issue... The system time, while set to automatic, changes to what I believe is GMT to my timezone when going in/out of network coverage.

Having some trouble getting this boot animation to work.

I renamed it bootanimation.zip & moved it to /data/local
Then I went to apextoolbox >> goodies >> toggle custom boot animation
& disabled it & rebooted - no animation at all.

Then I enabled that apextoolbox option, & rebooted, but still didn't have any animation.

If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated - thank you.

Is the bootanimation actually a .zip file? Meaning you didn't just name it that?

You also need to enable custom boot animation. I believe. Try that.

Yes, it's an actual zip archive file.

I re-enabled that option in apextoolbox, it returns:
Boot animation already installed!

Still not working? I just don't understand why you disabled custom boot animation... Because that's what you want. I think disabling it takes away all custom boot animations. I didn't touch anything in the Toolbox when I was adding a custom boot animation. I went to WJDDesigns.com, picked my boot animation, and made sure it was in a .zip folder and named "bootanimation.zip" then put in in data/local, replacing the one that was currently in there.

Ya I am definitely having the same issue with the boot animation even when reenabling it within the tool box and downloading Fabs custom one I cant get it to load all my phone does when it loads is show the "M" logo then go straight into loading the phone so any suggestions be great thanks

Has anyone experienced a random reboot? Cuz mine just did... hmmmm.

I have, but I attributed it to using Jrummy's dx overclock app. I have not experienced a random reboot since I have done the following:

Lowered my OC from 1.15 (high voltage) to 1.0 (ULV)
I also updated the apextoolbox by running updatetb in the terminal emulater
I ran apextoolbox, ran some services.jar tweaks (removed clock/date, and changed battery icon) (probably not important for reboot, but figured it was worth mentioning)

Finally I "managed startup scripts" then applied startup script (overwrites old ones) and then I "Fixed Startup Script" which supposedly allows the overclock app to run in harmony with apex

Hope this helps, and I've gone almost 24 hours without a random reboot (no reboots since I did this process yesterday)

As jrummy said in here before, there is a setting in his overclock app to startup as a service so it will not rely on the scripts at all.

Also, if your oc app is still using the script, you would need to make sure that it(the oc app) has written what it needs in the startup scripts, then apply the "fix startup script" from the apex toolbox. Since this appends fab's tweaks to the end of the already overclocked script...

Make sense?
