Found this rooted GB rom ->
How to: Get Rooted Gingerbread on DROID 2 - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog

Is this the GB leak you are referring to?

Assuming this is the correct ROM, I would follow the steps below.

D2 Bootstrap is installed already. (Have used this for every Liberty ROM flash)

Reboot into recovery
Wipe Data and Cache
Choose “install zip from sd card”, “choose”, then the Monster_2.3.2_Rooted.zip.
Your phone will now install Gingerbread with root.
When you reboot, your phone will appear to bootloop. Let it.
If it does it for say, 5 minutes, just pull your battery and reboot.

After this process is done, I can backup, wife data and cache, then can flash Liberty GB v.08, right?

Did I miss anything?

OK so this is what you want. Dl and boot into clockwork. Wipe data (no need for cache. Data wipe does it all, i'm told). Now mount system, data and cache (mounts/storage). I do this to be safe. It may not be necessary but it won't hurt. The 1st 3 lines in mounts/storage should say unmount. Now flash the leak. Reboot. Dl bootstraper and liberty toolbox. Dl 0.8, but when it asks you to install, don't. Just cancel and exit out. Now boot into clockwork and do the same thing you did with the gb leak. Wipe, mount and flash.

Understood. Thanks for the clarification.

I was running 0.7 with no problems, smooth as silk. Did the update to 0.8, including full data wipe and everything seems to work except Gmail. Gmail is now not actively checking for messages-- I have to open it and do manual refresh and suddenly it will pull down stuff. Any suggestions for how to fix this or is it just a bug that will work out with I jump to 0.9? Thanks!

Did you restore Gmail with TiBackup? Have you made sure auto-sync is on within accounts? Did you try wiping Gmail's data within manage applications?

I used My Backup Pro to restore. Just did the Gmail wipe and force close through settings-- applications and it appears to have done the trick. Thanks for your help with a basic question!

So I just installed Liberty GB and was wondering how I access the customizer. I didn't have my data connection setup when it first asked to download certain files. Anyway I can re-run the customizer?

Yes, just go to settings from your home screen, tic Liberty Settings and the first option is Lib Customizer

Got it working on mine as well, however it keeps asking me if I want to update the app and when I say yes its says it can't find it. Not that I'm complaining since it is working, but what version of netflix are you running? I have the mediaclient-3.apk. Is there a newer version out?

I get the same message but i just live with it. I'm just happy it still works! (Mediaclient 3)
