[ROM] TWO roms?? This guy's crazy!

I can't get Backup Assistant to work on Focused 0.5 Patched, which I downloaded last night.

I tried it three different ways:

1. Installed from the patched link on the front page. No backup assistant application is there and nothing happens when you hit the Backup Assistant in settings.

2. Downloaded Backup Assistant patch from front page, installed via recovery and again, no app, nothing happens in settings.

3. Checked the forum and saw a process moving two apps to /system/apps, did that, restarted, still no app or Backup Assistant working.

I have to have that working because my girlfriend must transfer all of her contacts through Backup Assistant. Any ideas? Am I missing something?

I wish this was as hassle free as my Droid 1.

Been kinda quiet in here. I'm having issues with dolphin hd and this rom. Gonna switch to blur .3 & test. If issue persists I'll try apex.

Plus every time I reboot I go into recovery.

Links are fixed. Dolphin HD issues? Haven't heard of them... what kind of issues are you having? Maybe I can help

I currently broke my bootstrapper, I can't reboot to clockworkmod recovery, so tomorrow when my replacement X comes in i'll be able to look at everything to fix

Haven't tested with DolphinHD. When reporting an issue, the more info you provide, the easier it is to help!

For example: It's easier to help someone who says "When I tap the search button, it doesn't bring up anything. Holding the button does bring up voice search, so I know that it's not the button. ..."
But it's much harder to help someone who just says "The search button is broken".

HOW is it broken? what steps can I use to recreate? Throw me a bone here! ;)

BTW, I've been using Fennec (android version of FireFox) with great success... :)

Sounds like there were some issues with this links, that should be fixed. If you're still having troubles, the direct link to the fix that I've used (and tested) is here:

Disregard the name, it should work on ALL versions of rubiX.

Hope this is helpful!

Is that what it means if you can't boot into recovery? Cause I'm having that same problem... and I really don't want to have to replace my phone, considering I don't have a warranty for it.

I thought it was rom manager, because when I tried flashing an older recovery it says there was an error downloading it.

Noob questions before I try this. Will I still be able to corporate sync email to exchange? And are the contacts/address book in this or any other ROM alphabetized by last name? TIA

Yes, you can. I am synced with my exchanger server right now.

I installed the Blurry ROM, and configured it to sync with my Exchange account, but it doesn't seem to want to sync my Exchange contacts to the phone. My email and calendar came over but not my contacts.

Thanks!:icon_ banana:

I understand the diagnosis stuff just wasn't on my puter and longer posts are a pain on the droid.

dolphin is just not acting right. links wont open. if they do they flash and go back to the original page. um the back button doesn't work. I have to press it like three times for it to backup a page. Plus I don't get the option to run flask on pages like I used to. flash works but the green arrow doesn't appear. the flash items appear as broken links.

Not sure why when i power down and power the phone back up I go to the recovery screen and have to select reboot phone.

I did get facebook to sync with my contacts so that's good.

Are you loading the recovery through droidx boot strap recovery app? or Rom Manager? Highly suggest you try the recovery app...

Tried both, neither are working. Tried reflashing sbf and clockworkmod recovery over and over.

Really appreciate this. I will give it a try when the lady gets home and update you.

I'd like to look into the cause a bit more... If you don't mind my asking..
--How did you install (Rom Manager, Rom Manager form SDCard, Boot to recovery and load from SDCard)?
--Was anything installed after the ROM such as a theme? Did you restore files from a backup?

Never heard of reports of people losing recovery from installing rubiX, until the latest version (I think it's called -FIX). I'm looking for things that you may have done that were similar to the other users who seemed to have lost recovery. If there might be similarities, at least we could eliminate rubiX as the potential cause of this... (??).

Sephtin, is it still ok to use the file you posted, .3 blurred patched zip in post #128. really want to try this out. or should i wait for another update...thanks

I'm just going through general troubleshooting questions here.

Did the folks that lost recovery lose root when they flashed?
Did the folks that lost recovery use an easy root one step method?
Did the folks that rooted and flashed rubix move the root file (I dont recall exactly but we had to move from one bin folder to the other

I did boot to recovery from rom manager and bootstrap tonight.
