[ROM] TWO roms?? This guy's crazy!

i think titanium is what messed me up...after downloading from ROM manager it downloaded the apps itself and i was careful using titanium to just add back user apps with no system apps...has been working great!!! My little machine is now FLYING!!!!dancedroid

I'm telling ya, stop restoring with Titanium.. grr. And for the love of all that is rubiX, please don't suggest it to anyone.. like 90% of the issues in the thread are caused by it. :S

What problem is Titanium Backup causing exactly? I've backed up all my apps using it and while I can see that if it were to overwrite something installed by either Rubix, that might be bad, how is restoring app+data for other apps a bad thing?

Or are you just saying don't go restoring things like GMail using Titanium?

I will install tonight. What big items will I miss from blur? I use launcher pro plus widgets. I want the focused since it appears more custom and source. last one, I prefer market re install but use titanium more as a place holder of what I had installed rather than its re install element. Would that be ok?

From memory, the list of issues that have been directly attributed to titanium backup restores:
-- Constant syncing in notification bar that didnt' go away (This was narrowed down to being related to the contact syncing service)
--Incorrect number of messages showing up for email accounts
--Problems with email not being "pushed"... someone actually opening up their email, which THEN receives the emails they should have had hours ago.
--Contacts issues.
--reboots
--FC's
--Problem with Music Player haivng problesm recognizing certain file types is "believed" to be caused by titanium restores as well.

I don't know if this is a problem specifically iwth titanium, if you're on rubiX, and you backup/restore.. probably won't have issues.. but coming from other roms, and restoring that data to rubiX has been shown to cause all kinds of fun things. Use caution with Titanium.

If you want to use titanium, go for it... if you have issues, may I suggest a reinstall without restoring from titanium as a first step though... heh

ok tried via rom manager no luck , just keeps on going back to the rom i tried to wipe. coming from zap x

recreated the issue. Know why.

DRod moved the files to another mirror.. but didn't change link names from old ones. IF you tried to dl' the unpatched version previously, you already have it cached.. so essentially, it's installing the pre-PATCHED version (that doesn't install correctly)..
Note: this should ONLY affect those that tried to use ROM Manager to install the ROM before it was announced as ready for ROM Manager...

We know how to fix. DRod is going to put up the fix.

Your options:
1) Wait a couple hours till DRod has the fix up

2) Install from SDCard, instead of having RM DL it:
--DL the working version from: http://www.sephtin.com/rubiX/rubiXBlurry0.3PATCHED.zip to your SDCard
--From ROM Manager, choose "Install ROM from SD Card
--Browse to the .zip file you DL'd to the SD card
and install it.

Sorry for the troubles. They were self infliced by DRod not liking the "PATCHED" name because it doesn't "sound stable".. and trying to rename things back. :S bleh

I won't restore with titanium. I just scroll through to see what I had installed that the market didn't auto restore. Then I go back to market and manually add. Back in the og droid days titanium app restore caused me some problems so I dont rely on that. Like I said its just a place holder to help my feeble mind remember all the extra apps I hardly used that were installed.

Did you try focused or blurry?

tried blurry

Ok. Can you tell me how you're installing it?
As in:
--Downloaded rubiXBlurry0.3Patched
--rebooted to recovery
--Wiped Data and Cache
--Installed .zip from sdcard

-or-

--From ROM Manager, went to Download> DRod2169> rubix Blurry 0.3> ...

?

Going to install Blurry from RM now, and see if I can recreate it.
the second way from rom manager
