[ROM] TWO roms?? This guy's crazy!

I'm just going through general troubleshooting questions here.

Did the folks that lost recovery lose root when they flashed?
Did the folks that lost recovery use an easy root one step method?
Did the folks that rooted and flashed rubix move the root file (I dont recall exactly but we had to move from one bin folder to the other


I did boot to recovery from rom manager and bootstrap tonight.

Also, which version of rubiX, focused or blurry.. that might help. (?).

Sephtin, is it still ok to use the file you posted, .3 blurred patched zip in post #128. really want to try this out. or should i wait for another update...thanks

Perfectly ok. I still am on the PATCHED version of Focused (from that site)...
There IS a slightly newer version from drod2169 called -FIX.. I think? But he's never issued a changelog for it, so I have no idea what's been changed (nor does anyone else...), changes that I know of:
--Put the camera application back in it that has broken panorama view
--"some other changes"

... And last but not least, don't want to alarm you, but there are 2 or 3 reports from those that installed the FIX version of the following issue:

I have loaded the PATCHED version linked of both blurry and Focused, perhaps a dozen times each with no issue... so I can recommend them.

Are you loading the recovery through droidx boot strap recovery app? or Rom Manager? Highly suggest you try the recovery app...

Tried both, neither are working. Tried reflashing sbf and clockworkmod recovery over and over.

I'd like to look into the cause a bit more... If you don't mind my asking..
--How did you install (Rom Manager, Rom Manager form SDCard, Boot to recovery and load from SDCard)?
--Was anything installed after the ROM such as a theme? Did you restore files from a backup?

Never heard of reports of people losing recovery from installing rubiX, until the latest version (I think it's called -FIX). I'm looking for things that you may have done that were similar to the other users who seemed to have lost recovery. If there might be similarities, at least we could eliminate rubiX as the potential cause of this... (??).

I installed rubix 0.3 blurry using the bootstrapper to boot into recovery, followed all the steps and installed from sd card, then after realizing how truly blurry it was, i decided to go back to blurless and without installing any other themes or anything for it, i downloaded rubix 0.5 almost within an hour or two, but when i tried rebooting into recovery again it didn't work.

My understanding is that the music player is not stock... But is instead a recompiled version...

You could try loading the stock..would likely fix the issue...

I also believe drod has stated that he will be looking into the issue in a later version of the ROM... ?

Is that what it means if you can't boot into recovery? Cause I'm having that same problem... and I really don't want to have to replace my phone, considering I don't have a warranty for it.

I thought it was rom manager, because when I tried flashing an older recovery it says there was an error downloading it.

I'm not sure what it means. At least for me, it does. Nothing I did fixed it in any way shape or form. Did you apply p3's 3g hotspot patch?

weird...

im running rubix .3 blurry with just the black bar mod....but the phone randomly goes into vibrate mode. and goes into vibrate mode EVERY time after rebooting. any ideas why??? i tried wiping and doing everything over (including not flashing black bar mod) and it is still doing the same thing
