rubiX Focused 1.6

To the person asking about the USB problem:
1. Plug the phone in to the computer via the USB cord
2. Go into Settings -> SD Card & Phone Storage
3. Unmount the SD Card
4. Turn off the phone
5. Turn on the phone
6. Your computer should now recognize the phone and your phone should now have the standard USB options

Thanks for the info. I tried exactly what you said but still no luck. Any idea ?

Thanks for the info! I read about that a couple of pages back... I just did a fresh install with wipe of the new version (didn't have too many apps) so no biggie!

For the apps, I would recommend using Titanium Backup. The free version is good for backup/restore or apps and app data (I don't do system data since it breaks things sometimes). The paid version is even better, since you don't need to manually say it is ok to install apps.

Google Data Sync will automgically re-install your apps via the market, if you checked the box during setup. I highly recommend after installing a ROM, that you jump on WiFi before the first time you open the market... it can take a while, and the market will appera to be "stuck".. as the apps you ahd before will say "downloading", but won't show up as downloading. If you let it do it's thing, you should see in the notification bar that x of x apps were succesfully restored.

Did anyone else wish they could do a double back flip after installing this ROM? Motorola should be ashamed of themselves for the way they shipped this Droid. I see how completely unacceptable it really was now.

yeah, you don't have to cancel 20 dl's :)

You can also go to Settings > Applications and clear the data for the Market app, to stop the download deluge. Then just install Titanium and run a batch restore.

Sorry, not trying to be dense here. So if I use GV for VVM on my VZW phone, will it have the same greeting as someone who calls my GV number directly?

I believe so, not 100% sure if you can change the greeting by the number DIALED.. I know you can change it by the number they're calling FROM (who's calling)...

Get a second GV number. do a conditional forward from your phone (*71<10digitnumber>). Set up the greeting on the GV number for your cell phone greeting.
No one needs to know that new GV number. It will only get called when you don't answer the cell.

I can't have 2 GV accounts linked to the Voice App on the phone though, correct? So I cant have GV integration for my current GV number (used for work) and still have seamless VVM with the GV app on my phone with a second GV number.

Is there an updated blackbar mod that was used in 1.0 of Rubix? It was called "Black Bar Mod by JsinLegacy" for v 1.0.

I installed rubiX 1.6 with the stock voltage settings and my battery life seems to be suffering miserably. Now I did flash this ROM twice, flash a backup and reinstall all of my apps, so it could be that. But is there anything else I can check? Oh, and of course battery manager force closes every time I attempt to open it and see what's draining the battery.

Use "Android System Info" from the market, on the "Dashboard" tab, select the "Battery" meter and choose "History" - this might help.

Compass Calibrate still does not work
Nor does 3G HotSpot

ONLY RUN THIS PATCH IF YOU DOWNLOADED BEFORE 12:51 PM EST ON NOVEMBER 1ST, it is updated in the rom and not needed if downloaded after

Does any one else see too much % (>40) in phone standy in battery manager (and yes battery manager does not force closed on me, DX is un-OC'd, JARubix update patch installed one with black gtalk and gvoice)

Could someone post a screenshot of their battery manager stats? I would like to compare it to mine to see if something is causing rubix to drain my battery.

Patches:
These are applied by booting into ClockworkMod Recovery, and installing .zip file from SDCard (NO need to wipe data/cache):

--If you preferred the launcher used in Focused 1.0, to ADW which is default in 1.6 (This will REMOVE ADW):

FAQs:
--During install, if I am upgrading from Focused 1.0, do I need to wipe data/cache?
Drod2169: "It is fully and completely recommended, but not necessarily necessary. If you experience ANY problems, wipe data and cache before posting about them and see if they come back"

--This ROM has some memory management/tweaks, Should I uninstall MinFreeManager and/or Autokiller and/or Autostarts?
Drod2169: "Yes. They might actually cause the phone to run slower/worse if they conflict."

--Reboots/stability issues, etc.? Most likely caused by undervolting.
Fix: Delete the /system/xbin/lowvolt.sh file, and reboot.

More incoming...

It might be helpful to link to the Blur camera app install you link to on your site. It's a pretty useful thing for others to have. Thanks
