rubiX Focused 1.6

Patches:
These are applied by booting into ClockworkMod Recovery, and installing .zip file from SDCard (NO need to wipe data/cache):

--If you preferred the launcher used in Focused 1.0, to ADW which is default in 1.6 (This will REMOVE ADW):
http://www.sephtin.com/rubiX/rubixFocused-PATCH-Launcher2.zip

FAQs:
--During install, if I am upgrading from Focused 1.0, do I need to wipe data/cache?
Drod2169: "It is fully and completely recommended, but not necessarily necessary. If you experience ANY problems, wipe data and cache before posting about them and see if they come back"

--This ROM has some memory management/tweaks, Should I uninstall MinFreeManager and/or Autokiller and/or Autostarts?
Drod2169: "Yes. They might actually cause the phone to run slower/worse if they conflict."

--Reboots/stability issues, etc.? Most likely caused by undervolting.
Fix: Delete the /system/xbin/lowvolt.sh file, and reboot.

More incoming...

It might be helpful to link to the Blur camera app install you link to on your site. It's a pretty useful thing for others to have. Thanks

Drod feels very strongly that this ROM was meant to be blurless. I will continue to post unofficial patches to my site, but these were only created/made due to demand... these are not official patches, and will not be supported as part of the ROM itself, as per drod.

Cell standby is a GRAPHICAL bug. It does NOT affect your actual battery life. There is no fix for this still, I'm trying to get in touch with Koush since he has fixed this before on CM for the droid 1.

With people requesting Blur apps like camera, can someone tell me the difference between the two? Is there a difference in quality? If not then I'm happy with AOSP camera.

blur camera has different options (panoramic mode, etc.) that aosp doesn't have. Image quality is the same. Same megapixel and same resolution

Since we're on the topic of requesting Blur apps, I'd like to throw in a request for the Fission/Blur Gallery app. I'm not a fan of the 3D Gallery in Rubix, and I like being able to organize my photos with tags. I tried installing the version on septhin's website, but the app doesn't appear in my app drawer after applying the patch (even though I can see the .apk in system/apps). This worked on 1.0, so I'm guessing there was a dependency removed in 1.6?

Downloaded 1.6 per instructions no prob there and restored all apps. Now I can't boot into CW. It just reboots the ROM when I go thru either bootstrap or ROM manager. Am I stuck doing SBF?

I had something like this with a ROM flash. Did you restore Bootstrap via Titanium?

Try clearing the data and cache from the bootstrap app, then relaunch and set bootstrap. You should get a SU dialog, click "yes", and you should get a confirmation from Bootstrap that bootstrap was successfully set. This worked for me.

I ended up un/reinstalling Bootstrap. Not sure what happened but I could get back into CWdancedroid

its a pain in the arse bug.. i had it happen permanently before, realllyyy sucked :( glad you got it fixed!

Anyone having Gmail troubles? (I have standard account and one google apps account).

Did you restore from backup?

First, make sure that it's syncing:
Menu> Settings> Accounts> Your gmail account> make sure "Sync Gmail" is checked...

If it was already checked, try clearing data/cache:
Menu> Settings> Applications> Manage Applications> All tab> Gmail
force stop, clear data, clear cache, and give it another go.

This has fixed pretty much all of these types of issues:
Help I've lost ClockWork recovery, my phone just reboots back into android

I'm working on a fix for 3G HotSpot App still, please do not ask about this, I'll let you guys know when I get it to work :)

Until I get 3g hotspot fixed, try this:
wireless_tether_2_0_5-pre11.apk - android-wifi-tether - Wireless Tether for Root Users 2.0.5-pre11 *** EXPERIMENTAL *** - Project Hosting on Google Code
it supports AP mode and everything people complained about not having in the market version

This, unfortunately, does not work in ap or any mode on my droid x. Rubix 1.6. Market version woks for adhoc.

Thanks for working on 3g hotspot fix, can't wait!
