rubiX Focused 1.8.9/1.9.3

Ok so I just came back to Focused 1.8.9 a few days ago and I didn't want to post anything about my battery issues cause I know its normal. But has anyone had any issues with charging a phone all night and waking up only say it is at 20% when you know for a fact that it was at 40% when you plugged it in?

This sounds to me like you are plugging it into a usb port in a computer that doesn't have the proper drivers, or a laptop that went into sleep mode that doesn't support usb sleep and charge.

Nope it was plugged into the wall charger.

Hmm okay, well being an ex engineer I found the easiest troubleshooting steps usually fixed the problem. Please don't take this as an insult on your intelligence:

Did you check to see it was plugged all the way in?

Did you ensure power was indeed coming through that outlet?

Do you have a light switch that turns off power to that outlet?

Yes it was plugged in all the way.
Yes there was power to the outlet.
No I don't have a switch that turns off the outlet.

I can't seem to figure out why. At first I thought my power went out with all the rain we have but my tv was still on and my laptop didn't show any battery loss.

Okay well too bad it's not something easy lol. You could try wiping the cache? Maybe wiping battery stats too but you'll want to do that again once you're able to get a full charge on it. That is definitely weird.

Kind of weird but my battery just got to 40 degrees c playing pocket legends for 10 minutes. The two variables are I installed rubix last night and updated pocket legends. Anyone have any insight.

That being said I love this rom. Can't speak to battery life yet but i have never used a snappier rom. And after a day of use I'm already sold on adw. I always used the stock launcher.

Thanks.

well im on day 3 and my battery issue hasn't gotten any better. I will try some different things but it seems to be going down 10% every 30 minutes. I do use it a lot, but it was never like this with the older roms.

i did do a battery stat reset.

anyone have some pointers?

ok better question to all of this would be... When plugged in now does it charge? If it does then I would not know what would have caused it one time to not charge. If it doesn't then I would try a different charger. Still no charge, then i would try a battery. Next I would SBF see if it then charges. If the battery is really I would not try to SBF the phone.

Pocket Legends is a battery whore that will definitely cause heating issues. I'd just play it while plugged in and only while the battery is under 50°C

Yea its definitely a battery slayer. Plus after you exit it keeps running unless you go under settings applications and exit it (even if u use the back button to exit).

That being said when playing the previous version of the game on fission it never got to 40 c nearly that fast of it ever got there.

My guess is its the game though since the rom doesn't seem to run hot otherwise?

I changed the usb cable that I use to charge and powered off the phone and it is charging fine. Going to power it on and wipe the battery stats when it is fully charged.

I regret installing 1.9.3. I can't overclock anymore as soon as anything is applied it will reboot. I installed 1.8.9 on my wife's phone and now I'm jealous.
