Second Android Update 2.2 Froyo (FRG22 Rolling) Out Now

That VZW PDF is the same thing that bounced around before. First it was this build then it was that build then it was the other build.

Ill believe in a second update when it rolls out. Until then.........

Sent from my Droid

You know, for me as a rooted user, the key to casual testing of all these different leaks and ROMs is copious backups. Backups are what provide freedom.

I backup to my Droid's sdcard, yes, but then I backup that sdcard to my PC daily, and I backup that to my spare sdcard once a week. So at any time I can restore from Droid's sdcard, or if it's having trouble, from my PC if I'm around it, or from my weekly backup on my spare sdcard (which I carry with my phone) anytime.

Even in the very unlikely event that Verizon were to send an OTA update that subverted recovery, I could restore an SBF image and then restore my backups.

The one thing that I still want to do is buy a backup *new* Droid1... Anyone know of a good inexpensive source?

P3's FRG22D is noticably smoother and crisper in operation than his FRG22 was. I've had no Market (or any other) issues and I only wiped cache on install. I am not seeing Flash in the Market yet.

Btw, I just rebooted and am now receiving another "Froyo 2.2 Update". At 76.9MB, I suspect it's just FRG01B again, but I'll do some file compares with it as soon as it's downloaded.

Does anyone know where the build number lives in the update .zip file?

I am coming from P3's FRG22 rooted. So no need to do a full wipe, just a cache clearing? That would make life a little easier.

In my experience all that was needed was a cache wipe. In fact, in my experience, I've never wiped everything except for experimenting with ROMs and except for just before restoring a backup. That's coming from the 2.0.1 days.

I really don't believe in doing a complete wipe for production leaks. Custom ROMs may require a complete wipe to work properly because of all the theme work that is involved (although I've gotten them to work without complete wipes too), and the ROM developers may request a complete wipe because that's the only consistent way they can test. But you can bet that no real MOTO or Verizon OTA release candidate (ie: leak) will ever require a complete wipe -- Verizon would never survive the support nightmare that requiring a complete wipe would bring.

I got my update this past Sunday at around 3 am cst but still no update for the flash player anywhere that I have seen

No market fix. Just popped up on my Market site page using straight 22D. Installed it over the Nexus One player app I alread had running on my Droid 1. Runs much smoother, although version number is the same 10.1.92.8.

yep, same here... interesting

Flash player 10.1 just showed up on my Droid Market!! Got it running just fine on my rooted FRG22D from P3 Droid.
Perhaps that was the hold up? Verizon would just be begging for a support nightmare if they pushed FRG22D and people went to the Market and found no Flash. Now that Flash is there, and set to be found by FRG22D, maybe the OTA will roll.

If so, hopefully someone running a custom recovery will save it off and get it uploaded somewhere. I'd like to take a look at it.

OK, well I was unable to find Flash using the build.prop file from FRG22D. Maybe someone who claims to have the updated Flash (but same version) for the Droid can post that apk somewhere.
