[ROM] The CM7 Gingerbread ROM (CM4D2-GB) is now ready for prime time!

i wiped data and booted GB. i try and run the MotoOneClick root and it attempts first reboot and hangs on a bootloader screen

"Bootloader D2.37"

what am i doing wrong here? i set USB mode to debugging on and Charge Only.

Disconnect the phone, reboot it, reconnect it again, and see if it continues.

I had similar results. Mine wasn't slow, but it definitely ran slow for about the first hour. After that, it returned to normal.

Edit: I meant to say hot.

it boots back up, continues with step 2, tries to reboot again, and hangs on the bootloader screen. balls.

Strange. I have not heard of that one yet. So it runs the 1st step OK, reboots, runs the 2nd step and then reboots into bootloader? I just want to make sure I got it right.

No... runs 1st reboot right into Bootloader. After I unplug the phone from USB and restart the phone manualy does it boot back up and then replug the USB before startup and second step goes through but i have to do the same to get back into the phone

For Some Reason D2 Bootstrap doesnt do anything when i hit Reboot Recovery

Maybe MotoRoot isnt working?

So it completes the second step and then reboots into bootloader again?

Did you reboot it and reconnect to see if it would complete the third step?

Also, have you tried rebooting the phone normally, reconnecting to your PC, and running the one-click root again?

Finally - what OS is the computer? I believe there is an alternate method for Win XP...

If you're rooted you'll have Superuser installed and available in your app tray, and D2 bootstrap will result in a superuser dialog appearing saying it's asking for root when you run it...

ok i'll make this as clear as i can. sorry for confusion.

1. received replacement D2 with froyo, i activated it (broke previous one)
2. installed z4root and got user access
3. realized GB OTA was released. downloaded and installed.
4. after install i tried running Motooneclick install.
5. recognized USB connected phone (in USB debug/charge only mode)
6. attempted 1st reboot, rebooted into bootloader.
7. unplugged usb connection, restarted phone, replugged usb and after startup, step 2 proceeeded
8. 2nd reboot attempted. repeat of step 6 into bootloader.
9. installed bootstrap.

here is where i was unsure of steps. i clicked Bootstrap Recovery and got "Success" then i just reboot? i also tried clicking Reboot Recovery and nothing happened. Superuser IS installed in the app list. when i run Bootstrap however i get no permission box or anything. i am running D2 bootstrap 1.0.0.3.

What's everybody doing for battery life? Mine has definitely dropped significantly since switching to this rom. I would carry a charger in my pocket for the rom of need be, but I'm still curious.

I get an easy full day out of my phone with no worries. With normal everyday use I still have easily 30% after a 16 hour day.

Now flashing roms and other heavy use items it won't last.

You just have to remember to turn off stuff when you not using it. Make sure you turn wifi when not in use. Change tthe wifi scan intervals, if your running a live wallpaper keep its settings at a minimum. Underclock/undervolt your phone when screen turns off. There's lots you can do to make the battery better(I know you didn't ask). Also make sure you calibrate your battery after flashing roms!

I haven't been able to install any nightlies except the 8/28. The 8/30 and 9/3 are both aborting in CWR with bad file errors. I downloaded the files right from the main page

Area you talking about revs nightlies, or the froyo official nightlies? Revs gb unofficial nightlies are on rootzwiki.

Could someone give some direction. I've been on the nightlies for awhile but seemed to have missed a few updates. How can I tell if I'm on the gb or froyo cm7. I'm currently on build 63 with 2.3.5. Its my first day off in a month and wanted to get this squared. Come on community, be gentle on me!
