[ROM] The CM7 Gingerbread ROM (CM4D2-GB) is now ready for prime time!

What do you mean change it? Make it bigger or smaller? With the plus ver you can. I haven't found a faster launcher yet, plus the lp widgets are great (plus ver) and I get a better feeling of response when scrolling (adw feels jumpy and abrupt imo)

Nope, I'm talking about changing an app icon on the homescreen to a .png icon on my SD card. In ADW and GoLauncher you just long press the app icon, click a selection then you can pic an icon from the card. With LPP I had to make a separate widget for each icon which was very time consuming to only change one icon. I do agree LPP has a great calendar widget, but the GL one is pretty comparable.

Need IDOPA assistance!!!

hey been reading through for a few days, excited to take the plunge, but haven't done much in the way of modding out my D2 ( played around quite a bit in the days of D1).

So basically here is where I am -- few weeks ago I installed Cyan 7.1 -08162011 nightly.
So obviously I am rooted. All is well, other than horrible battery life. Would love to jump into this new version as I love everything about Cyan.

From what I have read I need to SBF back to Froyo, before I can begin. But I can't seem to get the RSD lite to recognize my phone. I figure once I get past this is should be pretty straightforward.

thanks in advance...

No. This will root ota gb on a variety of devices (d2 included). This is how you will root the ota to be able to get on cm7 gb

If you are already on cm7 gb, you would have needed to use the above method to root the ota (unless you mean you're still on cm7-froyo kernel)

I just switched from CM7 Froyo to CM7 rooted GB about 3 days before the OTA came out. I'm trying to figure out how to go from there to the latest (OTA) version of CM7 using a Macbook?

I got ya. Yeah, I have to use desktop visualizer as well for custom icons (not on the dock though, just the screen). Despite this, I still stand behind the responsivness of the launcher

Make sure your drivers are up to date. Also, is the phone in bootloader when you plug it in? Rsd won't see the phone otherwise. It's probably something small like that

You'll have to search the forums for the mac sbf thread. I think you need a cd to run a virtual machine on your Mac.

I've searched for hours and come up with nothing but dead ends and geek speak that I definitely am not qualified to follow. I was hoping that somebody here might know of a way.

SBF to stock unrooted FROYO. Then pull the OTA in and update.
Before you do this, double check the one-click method for the D3 (which works for D2 GB) is Mac friendly.

...wish I could help with the technical aspects but I am not Mac-literate.

So I have two questions. Is there any way to use the stock GB launcher instead of ADW or LPP. And also I have done the ota update and am on the 9/3 cm7 and my camera doesn't work. As soon as you zoom in its freezes. Please help.

YOu can always DL Launcher 2 (or any variant) it's essentially the stock GB launcher as a standaolne app.

Go to camera settings and change the zoom setting to the volume keys. Should fix the freeze problem.

Very funny Dana! I'll check my bloody phone whenever I feel like!

LOL...just reminded me of me of my own sneaky Android behavior. :)

That's my favorite calibration app too, yet it hasn't worked since I installed the OTA GB version of CM7.

Works fine for me on the GB OTA...uninstall/reinstall it, and wipe app data?

That will do it - I've had zero issues using volume key zoom.
