★☆★ The Official "I got my Galaxy Nexus" Thread ★☆★

Transferring my 12.5 gb of music over right now. Only issue was redownloading a few apps, and hbo doesn't show in the market. Phone is everything I thought it would be, tomorrow will test the battery under my normal usage. No 4g here yet, so some battery savings there, and I went for the extended battery. With my discounts, $314 for phone and battery.

I'm patiently watching the clock. I don't get out of work for another hour. I called my local Verizon and the associate said I should be fine. If things go well, I'll be posting back in a couple of hours with my new Nexus. OG will be retired to the bedroom performing alarm clock duties.

This thing is sweet, anyone know how to sync existing contact to facebook? Can't find option anymore every since they updated the app

Got mine at 10:26, been playing with it all day and just got home, had to go show it off to my brother =P

I tell you what, anyone who was worried about it feeling plastic has to love this thing, it feels great and the screen is incredible.

Went to Costco this morning, they hadn't recieved their shippment in, luckly there was NO ONE at the best buy next door. I am loving the phone, face unlock hasn't failed yet. The screen is amazing! I hated the Bionic screen and this just puts it to shame.

I do have one question, why can't I get the Galaxy Nexus to sync with my facebook contacts and thier pictures?

Thanks to who ever answers.

Snagged mine from Radioshack here on the West Coast at 9am Pacific. They had a bit of trouble with Verizon's system being down and then not wanting to process the application so the guy had to call and have them do it. Total it took an hour to sell the phone but it was absolutely worth every second of waiting.

ICS is smooth, fast, and beautiful. As soon as I got it plugged into a PC it was unlocked and rooted with absolutely no headache or worry. Haven't tried out the camera or anything as of yet but I have used the facial unlock and it is quick and easy. All in all I am extremely pleased with the phone so far.

I snuck out of work so I could go get mine! I thought I would have to wait til after work when it surely would have been sold out (I work in NYC) by or tomorrow. But I decided to sneak out and get it first thing when the store opened. Glad I did! There were already people ahead of me! I am totally blown away by the quality of the screen. I haven't had a change to REALLY play with it as I had to run back to work (where it WAS noticed I was missing, woops). First impressions though: awesome screen, little dismayed that the original droid sounds aren't there as I'm so conditioned to them, my apps all transferred automatically, pics and music did not - will have to do that when I get home. I had a heckuva time with the contacts. I HATE the fact that it has both emails and phone numbers listed in contacts and I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to just have people with phone numbers listed. Ultimately I did a huge clean up, did some merges and created a file that is just people with phone numbers so that's all that shows because I couldn't figure out how to do it otherwise. I know that "preloaded apps" is a concern but really I don't notice any more than the OG Droid that I had before. Pretty easy to use and figure out (I'm a girl and not the most tech savvy person out there). I went ahead and bought the extended battery right off the bat because I knew that I'd need it eventually and when I did want it it'd probably be sold out. I have a screen cover on mine too and the graphics are still awesome. My friend has the bionic and I was completely dismayed with the quality of the screen with the cover on. But you can't tell with the nexus. Thus far - thumbs up! Can't wait to really get to know it!

Oh I want to edit to add: I went to order mine online and they tried to change my data plan when I went online which is why I went into the store. The store peeps said that if you order online, it will try to change your data plan. I have unlimited now.

Unlocked and rooted my nexus in like 5 minutes. I bought the extended battery but they were already sold out of it so its getting shipped to my house and I payed $25 for it because the girl said if i bought it while i was buying the phone it was 50% off. JUST as I was walking away from the counter with my nexus, the manager came out of the back and said "the batterys are no longer 50% off" i walked out lol, so lucky i got mine half off!

So, the Costco pack comes with a leather pouch, leather holster, travel case, car/wall combo charger and 2 screen protectors that don't cover the whole face. The leather pouches also seem to be a tight fit... but that could be because they're new leather. Kinda disappointing as I was hoping for a dock or backup charger.

On the plus side - I have been the only person to touch it so far. Rep let me unbox, insert sim & battery, turn on, activate & test call. While I was setting mine up, he kept getting calls asking if he had any nexus in stock and he was telling people he just sold his first (me) and he didn't have very many, so if they wanted one they'd better hurry up. I asked how many he had and he said "I can't say exactly how many, but consider yourself lucky and I'll sell out by the end if the day."

Fyi: not missing my D1 at all (at least not yet anyway.)

It appears to no longer be in Android as of 3.0 or 4.0, but if you're willing to root: Galaxy Nexus ICS ROM restores Facebook contacts sync - SlashGear
