No "snail mail" coupon needed....this is not one of those loyalty rewards coupons that were mailed last week. This is a special VZW promotion to encourage people to upgrade from a 3g device to a 4g device. Requirements are:
- Currently a VZW customer.
- In Chicago/midwest...I can only validate Chicago.
- Renewing contract for 2 years.
- Early renewal OK. I'm 20 months into my contract and was eligible for a new device at the regular discounted rate. This is an additional $100.00 off!
- Phone must be purchased in a VZW corporate store.
- Promotion active through December 31st
That's it! As I said, make sure you talk about the promotion with your sales consultant. This promotion seems to be a bit "under the radar" and my consultant was not aware of the promotion.
I am sure they will know nothing about this when I go in and claim no knowledge. Where did you get this information from? There was/is a promo about upgrading to a smartphone from a non smartphone for $100 but thats all that I have seen.
I showed up a bit early, got mine and was done in maybe 10 or 15 minutes (sometimes have to go through some extra hoops being on a business accounts that only my parents are authorized signers for). Exchange went smoothly, activated fine, and got the 4.0.1 to 4.0.2 update about 20 minutes after!
Got mine! Sign in took a couple of minutes, and the phone did 2 updates already since... I noticed that the notification bar says 3G, not 4G... since I grandfathered my unlimited data plan in from my OG Droid, do I have to upgrade to a 4G plan, or is it done automatically?

My costco has them, but they're not in inventory yet so I have to wait Accessory bundle seems kinda lame... can't remember exactly but no dock, no backup battery charger...
Probably my last time using a physical keyboard on my phone. Nexus, here I come!
Just got back from Verizon with my Nexus. :big smile:
Was 5th in line... so I started to talking to everyone in line about Droid Forums and Galaxy Nexus Forum while we waited for the doors to open and a few of the guys knew about DF.
2nd guy in line happens to be a member at DroidXForums and GalaxyNexus Forum!
Anyone trying syncing to their work/corporate email. The security measures they are requiring is scaring me. Saying, "Factory Reset" and "Disable Camera Use". I am assuming the phone will not to that unless there is some hack into our corporate account, correct? Any info would be great.
So, I olrdered me Gnex over the phone this AM and paid the standard $269 after NE2 upgrade discount. I called back after reading this and asked the rep about it. It took her a solid 10 minutes just to find the promotion, and then she informed me that the promotion is only available for qualifying phone numbers. I'm not sure what the qualifications are. I live in Michigan and currently have (2) 3g phones on separate accounts... neither qualified for the $100 promo discount. :-(

The person in front of me at the VZW store was doing the same thing. He suggested I call *611, the customer service number and that's what I did. This is where I got my info in my previous post from, the rep on the line was reading me the qualifying criteria....FYI, nothing about a qualifying number. Also, I was talking to the phone rep as we were processing my Nexus sale in the store....nothing like having corporate on the line!
Last FYI, I upgraded from an OG, so I had a smartphone, just went from a 3g device to a 4g device. Also, had no loyalty credits....just the subsidized price when I entered the store.
