Verizon begins sending customers early upgrade promotions

She can authorize you on the account, and then all you have to do when you call is mention a password or PIN #.

I had gotten mine a few days ago, which is why I went to verizon yesterday and I purchased the Droid Ally

So i got my upgrade offer in the mail.. i have the original droid.. would i be able to get it thwn sell it without any hassles

I have to give it to Verizon they are letting people upgrade without much resistance... Unless they have something up their sleeve with is most likely the case. I just wonder if they let you upgrade, does that mean your contract will be extended another 2 years on top of the one you already have?

2 years additional on top of your current I would bet.

Nope. Just a fresh 2 years. They don't add it on top of what's left. I've done it several time including with the X.

Dude, since theyre not the government, and motorola just HAPPENS to be a private company, they dont even have to look at the petition. government does, because thats in the consitituion. But private companies dont fall under that. so your petition is useless, and spam. You could have a million signatures and they wouldnt have to do anything at all. To reiterate, THERE IS NOTHING LEGALLY USEFULL ABOUT A PETITION AGAINST A PRIVATE COMPANY.

Yeah... this legislation is basically says these companies can't take legal action against anyone "caught" rooting/jailbreaking there phone; not that companies need to make it easy for us.

Okay, enough with the petition posts hijacking a bunch of threads. Back to the early upgrade promotions. I posted a couple of days ago that it worked for me. I ordered the Droid X. Has anyone else who ordered on Wednesday afternoon received an email at all, whether it's to confirm the order to to notify you that it's being shipped? I haven't received anything yet.

I think I'm gonna wait. I have a day 1 Droid1 and while the X looks great I doubt they'll give me another upgrade in 6 or 12 months when something even better comes out. The Droid is working well for me so I'll hold off for 12 months or so and see what REALLY super stuff is available then.

After I ordered mine, I received an email saying "congrats on your new phone"... one of those dealy's. I haven't received a confirmation email or shipping notice yet, but it just got approved yesterday evening (it was in queue for a couple days).

Ordered mine on Wednesday as well when that promotion was sent out. I got an email yesterday, with a tracking number because it has already shipped. I'll have mine on Monday!
