Verizon Confirms iPhone 4, $199 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB, Mobile Hotspot Included...

Will there be a big difference in speed between this and android with LTE? Was thinking about getting this for my mom who is eligible for an upgrade. I want her to have something user friendly with front facing camera for video calling. I would rather stay on android though. Maybe they'll put out a miui style (iphone -like) rom for a droid bionic or Hutchins thunderbolt.

now reasons you should buy the IPHONE

you can figure out how to use an android phone!!!!
you own a mac now because you cant figure out how to use a computer that requires more than just opening the box and plugging it in!!!
you tie a sweater around your neck already.
and you like steve jobs.

but on a technical note even though the screen is tiny it is nice.

Shadez, Your post has some incorrect information. The iPhone that is being made available will not take advantage of LTE. The Q and A part of the announcement revealed that LTE would have required farther adjustments and they weren't prepared to change the device that much. 4G data (LTE) is not capable on Verizon's 4th Generation iPhone...It runs off of Ev-DO (3G) Just to clarify.

It didn't say it would be 4g capable...at least I didn't read that, but since VZW is launching 4g at the same time many people will jump on it. And releaving potential stress on the 3g network. Improving speed for Iphone users compared to the bogged down ATT network. That's how I read it anyways.

Toodles my friend. but you will be disappointed in the end after the shock and awe of the tiny screen and quasi chrome exterior. you will find that the OS is no more polished than android and is no more capable than android. oh and did I forget to mention you will miss FLASH as the iphone has none. and verizon announced the iphone at the same time as telling its customers you cant get upgrades for 20 months now. so have fun being stuck on a already old phone.

Haha, Ok flash is capable via Skyfire. And as for Verizon's 20 month policy the Memo explicitly stated they want were making promotional pricing and special offers available instead of the policies canceled. Thus, you most likely wont have your phone for 20 months. I am in no way protecting iPhone here, but lets keep the facts clear and correct.

I read this as saying the phones were LTE capable, which they arn't. I guess he could be saying the users could potentially be taking advantage of the LTE network after the iPhone 4.​

No I read that as meaning as customers jump to 4g it will free up space for the Iphone on the 3g network​

Personally I am not going to buy a 300 dollar or 200 dollar year old phone. Every summer they come out with a new one anyways. Second I think Android phones are now preparing to jet past the iphone feature wise. Supposedly the new iphone will not be dual-core... So I would rather pay 200 for the atrix or bionic.
None the less I am very excited for this year hope android can win!

Im not s sure abut that, but Im not gonnna argue it either because we wont know till it comes out. VZW has a reputation of springing things on people.

Second time... you can get flash if you jailbreak. Not that flash has been anything special on Android. You forgot to mention how much better games are on iOS as well.

Ronnie Warren Ummm, droid came after iphone, the iphone 4 is fast enough. And the screen is big enough. I can get a laptop or an iPad if i wanted something faster.
