Flash works on the 2 main porn site I like very well so that's all that matters to me. Hey.... my wife works a lot and I'm disabled at home, don't hate! LoL

Yes Jn, I agree was well on your comment about the community, and since you said it first, I agree on flash. Yeah, it's nice, but I think in a bit I'll be pulling it and regaining space for other apps. It's like a fad, you can go and play online, etc.

But I reserve final thoughts until after the one with HW accel comes out, if at all.

Lastly, while it is hard to consider, let's ALL face something: The Droid is not going to be our last phone (Let's not change to a death, dying thread eh?)

If this becomes a fact, and IMO it is not, I already have it, and run it, and wll be content until I get my next phone.

Very true indeed! We all tend to lose that contentedness so easily:

Loved it !! So true, reminds me of the saying a New york Min. and a Tex. Sec. is about as long.
( first time I used this Function hope its works )

Should this news prove to be true, then I would fully expect to be offered an immediate upgrade path without contract penalty. I was sold a phone with base line expectations in November under a 2 YEAR contract. One announced feature was Tethering, to be delivered shortly after the first of the 2010 year. If the phone literally just deadended, then the contract just dead ended.

Sorry, about your bad luck here, but they are not required to provide you with any OS upgrades at all. Once you buy the phone they are free to leave it like that forever...promising tethering and obligating themselves too it are two different things. So if you opt out early expect a hefty term fee.

Part of the problem is some of the Verizon reps don't know any more than we do on this forum, so they tell what they hear, and sell phones based on those same rumors... at times anyway. My local VZW store is good about saying "yeah we've heard that too, but don't know for sure", whenever I take something I've heard on here and ask them about it. But I've seen stories on here, and elsewhere, of people who were "promised" this and that, and it was only speculation.

I'm no expert but if this all has to do with royalties/rights issues wouldn't that mean that no phone could have flash on them like the nexus 1/evo? Again I could be way off just my thoughts.

If this turns to be true ill be moving on from the droid1 and onto an x

If Verizon doesnt get flash to work on Droid, i would think they should compensate droid owners in some way. Flash was one of the advertising points of the phone. Am i Wrong ?

So what I'm hearing is they're incompetent ****wards and can't make the promised upgrade work.
And don't give me crap about they ain't obligated to blah blah blah. They said we'd get it and the reason we don't have it is because they can't make it work. Maybe they should have got it to work before telling us about how awesome our phones would be (including the Flash they told me I'd have in jan '10) when the update happened.

What we need to do is take to Twitter and Facebook and start bad mouthing Verizon. It's the only power we have.
I don't know about the rest of you but I don't like being told I'm buying something then find out it's not quite that then listen to people tell me I can't complain because it's still better than whatever.

Within parameters, I understand/agree with what you are saying. And, it is that very truth that has turned our world into a pile of crap. When I do business, my word is what I have to offer, regardless of what a contract might say. When I cannot meet my word, I have made a mistake, I apologize, and I do everything within my power to ensure that the customers needs are met. If someone proves that they cannot do the same, I don't do business with them, or I ensure that the advantage from that point on is mine. If Verizon wants me to operate ensuring that I am in a position to screw them over EVERY chance I get, then they can keep on keeping on. A commitment from one of their sales people is a commitment from the company. There are large companies that operate that way ... and those companies are wonderful to work with, and have the best trained sales people in the world.

Since 2.2 was already put out I'm sure it will get fixed and pushed out.
The further updates I would believe they are talking about would be 3.0 Gingerbread.

Happy with manual FRG01B

I manually upgraded on Tuesday, had absolutely no problems with the install. Afterwards it did run really slow for about half a day after it updated, but since then it's been more responsive and faster then 2.1. I have no idea why it ran sluggish that first day. I've been more then happy with it, though. I did notice that Flash Beta was a little choppy when trying to play video, and occasionally the home screen likes to take a bit loading everything, but other then that no serious problems. If they do try to roll me back I'll finally have to root, something that has suddenly become more attractive with the one click rooting program that you can buy on the market.

I manually updated as well, had the half day of slow performance and then a stable, fast, nice new phone. What all of this is leading me to think is that it's not the OS creating the problems, but the combination of apps/widgets on individual phones.

Wow, I thought it was me! I had a day or maybe a half of slow and some weirdness, with a free falling battery (6 hours). The next day I deleted Avd task killer and quit using LauncherPro and it became a new phone. Some how it seems even better today. I'm very happy with the updates and not using LauncherPro I don't get daily FC's. The icons still wipe clean every once in a while when jumping out of an app. The battery is back up, 16 hard hours or 18 light, the meter says 20 but that's very optimistic.

After all this time, I'm kinda over Adobe. I got by a couple of years without it, I think I can wait a bit longer. Seems like the Beta is working for people, what the heck?

That's true. When I had my Voyager I wanted to add FLO TV. That would add an additional $15 a month to the $15 data plan, but if I had the Data Plus plan, the total would be $25 a month (as opposed to $30). I asked the rep at the store if the change to the Data Plus would be automatic and they said "Yes." It wasn't.
