When I used to bracket race there was a pinto, did like 24 seconds in the ¼ mile. That thing was tough to beat. He had like a .500 or better reaction time.

I'm gonna go look at a 97 Jeep wrangler today. Has 31in tires, a winch, hard top, and its a 5 speed. I think its just the 2.5l but I just need something to get around in the winter. The Stang is a no go lately.
Its got a tranny leak but should be a simple fix and the price is reasonable.

Make sure you have the vacuum system and compression checked. Get somebody like loyd to check the tranny, diffs, and transfer case.

I too was thinking of getting a second "climate" car.. we haven't gotten any snow this year in NY outside of yesterday but when it comes, my car will be a sled going uphill

As altspeed suggested, the axles will cost you, everybody uses a jeep as a jeep, except Barbie. the hubs and axles will both be contaminated with water.

Can't wait for the V6 mercedes powered ones to drop in price.
