7-7-10 [ROM] Froyo Kangerade 5.0.9 *source built, 9 themes, bug fixes, many features*

sweet even wifi works and it hasnt worked on any 2.2 till now :)

Curious what you mean Wifi works. you talking tethering or just Wifi itself. Only reason I ask and am curious is every Froyo ROM I've tried/used Wifi has alwasy worked no matter what ROM I've used going back to a device I got flashed by a Moto buddy long before the leaked files were even around.

Sorry for the delay in answering, there have been many threads about wifi not working (keeps dropping in and out) on froyo for a lot of people. I was one of those no matter what rom i used or kernel i could not hold a wifi signal. this one works for me so hopefully some of the other people having issues may also experience successful connection with this rom

Great work again...runs super smooth! One issue I have encountered w/ this ROM is that I can no longer access the diagnostics menu (the one accessed by dialing ##PROGRAM). When I dial ##PROGRAM instead of prompting me for the password my phone tries to dial out and connect to the literal "##PROGRAM" number. Of course the call is intercepted by a verizon automated error message. Has anybody else encountered this behavior?

+1 to this. I can't access the menu either, the phone tries to dial the number like a call. First time i've seen this on any ROM.

JRummy? Thoughts?

Tried it again...it doesn't access the hidden menu anymore. Weirdness.

After flashing a ROM are you back the default voice encoding EVRC or is the voice encoding setting stored somewhere that is not touched by the ROM, e.g. radio firmware. I had changed it to EVRC-B while using the previous ROM. If I am still using EVRC-B I would like to be able to change it if necessary back to EVRC if ever I am in an area without support for EVRC-B...otherwise not having access to the "hidden menu" would not be of concern.

yep me too goes to verizon

ROM is running GREAT!!!! One thing though, has anybody been able to get the mms notification LED color to change? I tried white and nothing, no indication?? Do you have to reboot after the change? I went back to default and it worked fine, any suggestions? thanks...

does anyone have any update.zip theme files that will work on these? trying to get some more orange theming going for the nex tang but if i just override the framework.apk on the original Rom update.zip then for some reason the battery icon doesnt show up.

I tried using the update.zip from an older froyo build theme but it gets stuck in reboot loop. once I get it working correctly ill post up for those that want more oranging. haha. Im gonna try a few things till then but we'll see if i can get it anywhere haha

I was wondering which is the best wifi tether app or the one that I should end up downloading from the market?

Every time I've tried the ones on the Market they seemed to either never work, or weren't very stable.

But if I go here to the developer's website for Android Tether:

Downloads - android-wifi-tether - Project Hosting on Google Code

these ones seem to always work for me. Just load the file onto your SD card somewhere and run it using Root Explorer and it will self-install. Read the release notes to make sure there are no issues with your phone model prior to choosing a build number.

JRummy.....have you had any problems with Handcent force closing?

I had this happen when I first installed the ROM...I installed the Handcent from goodies and it would FC, so I uninstalled it using the scripts app and then downloaded from the Market. It downloaded and installed just fine though. Havent have and FC's since.

Yea, I'm trying the same thing but when I download it from the market I'm getting "Application cannot be installed in the default install location."

Well, I have no idea how to check that setting *without* accessing the hidden menu. And the fact that it used to work and is now broken indicates a problem to me, but apparently not a problem anyone else cares about, so...so nothing, I guess. *shrug*

The EVRC setting is saved in the baseband, so flashing a new ROM won't override it. I've flashed a bunch of ROMs and the only time I have to change back the EVRC setting is after I flash the baseband.

Good to know...thanks! Still would be nice to be able to change it back should we ever need to, but I'm sure that'll be addressed eventually.
