well i rooted my phone from the previus 2.2 update and then installed the update on the first page. this complete whipe version of 1b is much better than the version from last week. Smoooth baby. loving plus i get the option to re-root anytime i get ready because i bought the one click method :0 very happy now. the first version on my droid was very clunky and had huge pauses in it. thanks ROTOR.

2. the file in this thread is completely legit and installing the update is cake

3. you dont need the ota if you do this manually....

oh yah check back on page six for the way to get the new version onto your phone (the full wipe one) if u updatted the first one.

But to answer your questions 2 and 3, anything you install other than Verizon's official OTA is at your own risk. And, last rumor of any kind was that Verizon has delayed the OTA while they work on some stuff (probably related to Flash).

If you really want to be safe, wait for the official Verizon OTA.

If you are a little more adventurous, try this OP's stock non-rooted FRG01B.

If you are ready to try the next step to the edge, try stock rooted FRG01B or stock rooted FRG22.

If you're ready to fly, go for the custom ROMs.

IIRC, yes. Even if you flashed back to 2.0.1 you'll be able to update with the file on the OP, so which one you pick isn't too important.
