ALERT! 2.2 FroYo Circus continues...FRG01B is Official get it here.

Hrm anyone have any ideas what i can do...? i made a back up in case however now i can't get into the recovery by holding X. i changed the file to Update.zip and put it on SD card and allowed it to install and installed this file. however now i'm in a boot loop and can't get out of it. When i reboot and hold X i get a white triangle with a yellow exclamation mark inside of it with the droid pic below it. not sure where to go from here... Should have left it alone >.<

i was running rooted 2.1

The update replaced your SPRecovery with stock recovery. When you get to the screen with the triangle and exclamation mark, press the Volume Up and Camera buttons at the same time. Then choose to wipe storage, or whatever it's called. You will lose all data on your phone, but that should clear up the boot loop. Don't choose wipe cache or wipe baseband. Choose the one about data or storage.

Were you running a stock recovery image or an alternate like SPRecovery or ClockworkMOD Recovery?

I don't know if someone posted this or not... I didn't feel like reading 200+ posts.

But here is a link from Motorola about 2.2. All the improvements and stuff.

Sorry for these questions, but didn't see an answer.

I force updated my stock phone to the 2.2 update [the patch]

I would like to revert to 2.1, then flash with the full rom files 2.2... I use RSD Lite following these directions The Guide to All Things Root Related - Android Forums

1) Would my phone be considered to have been rooted after this?
2) After rolling back to 2.1, I see you have to activate the phone again. Would I activate the phone, then flash to 2.2? Or would I have to activate it twice? Or??

Unless you're flashing in SPRecovery, you're fine using RSDLite to push a stock SBF to your phone. You'll need to activate your phone and then apply the update. After the update you might have to activate again.

Don't worry about what VZW might think at that point because all you have to say is you did a factory reset because of some issues and you thought it might help if they even ask, which they most likely won't.

Has anyone whose installed the full package version of FRG01b tried the mail app with an exchange server? I connect to exchange for work and it would be crappy for me if it didn't funtion properly. I heard there were some issued with the FRG01b release last week....

I ran the FRG22 install when it hit the airwaves. This morning I ran the Full Install FRG01B that JRummy manipulated. I had no issues connecting to my exchange server. Calendar and mail both worked flawlessly.

Why'd I go backwards? Because I can.

Nate

Quick question for you love bunnies.

I'm using my Droid X (non rooted), and I'm using AndroZip. I'm moving the 'update.zip' to the root of my sd card. obviously there isn't a "Root" folder on the sd card unlike the phone files. My Droid X won't let me use the update I downloaded...Now so I don't feel weetawded..in order to get to the root boot, on the x, you have to hold the power button and the home buttom aka the house, when you start your phone? Correct??

I remember doing this back in the day on my Droid, but on the X it won't let me...gives me an error boot.

Anyone update on the DX???
