ALERT! 2.2 FroYo Circus continues...FRG01B is Official get it here.

well, i did the manual 2.2 update for my wife's phone, and she lost her root access :( guess i should've read about it before doing it huh? oh well, i only had hers overclocked. if she starts noticing issues, i'll just have to flash a rom or wait until some genius figures out how to root stock 2.2

Go get Universal AndRoot or Easy Root.

furbearingmammal thank you for the link. It took less than 10 mins, now enjoying Froyo! Love the camera, zoom, flash, market widget and so on...

Thanks to all!

Aside from the one-touch methods, the devs here are working on a 2.2 SPRecovery SBF that will will have a 2.2 kernel in it so as to not have issues. Just a matter of time. :)

Right on the root of the SD card. Bugless Beast left the OTA hole open, somehow, and Pete has a patch for that over in his forum somewhere.

i"m reg. but update on wifi ?
What aren't you understanding? :) If I knew for sure I might be able to help more.

Your phone got pinged for whatever reason and you got the update push. I'm guessing it's because, being registered with Google, they checked that registration, pinged your phone, and when it came back with the wrong build ID it pushed the update to your phone. In your case that's annoying, so go to Pete's subforum and dig up the patch, install it, and you'll be golden after that. If you install the patch you'll never get an OTA notification again as long as Pete did his job -- and Pete's one of the best developers out there, so I'm sure he did.

The update will come over WiFi just as easily as it will via 3G. Verizon prefers it that way because then they're not burning their 3G bandwidth, which they pay for.
