Downgrade to 902 - No app or data loss

I completely agree. But if Dan R, the person who created the original motofail exploit, says there aren't any known exploits, we're pretty screwed. And that's, in fact, what he has said.

Makes you realize how the community has taken root for granted lately.

That's currently the case, yes. We'll have to see if that changes in the future, but, so far, it's not looking so good.

Let's see what Google does with Moto. Maybe the next generation will be easier to root, or someone brilliant will figure another chink in the Armor.
On 244... working great!

Just like with the Sony PSP, there was a version people thought was unhackable for the longest time, then after about 3 years someone finally hacked it. I am sure since Moto has a larger tech savy following it won't be that long before someone can root them.

I wouldn't bet on it.

6.1 RELEASE

o) General cleanup of the script and menus
o) Split the transfer option so that you can now push the update, and then check the md5. This allows a person to copy it manually if needed, and then to go back and check the md5 by selecting N to the transfer update prompt.

It's just a maintenance release. Trying to clean some stuff up. Some people had problems with the transfer option hanging at "daemon started". I've tracked that issue down. Basically? Your phone isn't being detected by adb so it's just sitting there hanging at the waiting for device command. I've made this more explicit for messaging. In any case, this isn't a huge release but should make it a clearer for people.

Mannnn! I thought it was 245! You know, I took the plunge to 244, after weeks of debate, didn't brick, bootloop or ask any questions based on not reading the OP! Then what. I got nothing, not even a little razzing from SamuriHL! Whazup with that? And what's HL?:icon_ banana:

I know...I've made it so easy an iPhone user can do it. :D ROFLMAO! HL is for Highlander.

As for the updates, I'm still holding out small hope that 244 will somehow slip out as OTA. If not, you'll all be back to the House for coffee and tea....or an update....or something. :) GET OFF MY LAWN! :D

Grumpy old man:p Thanks!
Not so sure about an iphone user, did you see the video? Definitely improved,! Ha ha ha!

Thank you for this, SamuriHL. Updated to 232 first, and then said the heak with it and went for 244. I did a full wipe before going to 244, as I felt like I would be using this for awhile and wanted a nice fresh start. I use to do this stuff all the time, but I have been slacking the last year or so. But, I was getting fed up with this ICS debacle and found this thread. The process was great, and very easy! Just follow the directions, and BAM!! I am now rooted, with the 244 build. My only issue is the fact that I have had SEVERAL reboots. I am hoping that once everything gets going, this will stop. Seems like they are already becoming less and less. Anyone else have this issue? Did it work itself out?
