Downgrade to 902 - No app or data loss

You can leave your charger plugged into the car dock and once you dock your phone in it the phone will recognize that it is in and open up a new menu that gives you the option to start navigation along with other things... There is a good app called car home ultimate that you can have open instead and it tells you your speed and direction as well even when you aren't in navigation yet

This sounds like an app I have been looking for. Can't find it on the store though. Could you double check the name?

BTW, doing 246 as I type here!

Well after reading this entire thread and the faq about a dozen times I have set about going to 246. Yes I used the hash check after dling. And I made sure my battery was full. i also made sure to have usb driver installed and a 2.0 port. Debug mode check. I started stock 905.

I seem to be stuck at the moment. Here is all the back ground I have. I started the script. I chose option 1. I then chose option 1 again. Ran the hash check on phone file is good. Then I chose option 2 reboot to boot loader.
Then option 3. I let it run for a half hour, when I returned I found the script said something like file transferred press any key to continue. This appears to be where it went wrong. I pressed a key and the script restarted the menu. Thinking every thing is normal I then went to option 4. I then powered off my phone. I then tried to do power both volume buttons. It restarted and went to the red M and the dual core screens after this just a glowing screen. No menu. I waited 30min. Now all I can do is get my phone to turn on and get stuck at the same screen.
I am new at this and must have messed something up I guess.

Oh here is the swd text file - I am guessing this is the problem is but i fully admit I do not actually know.

You MUST boot into recovery to complete the process. You definitely didn't do exactly what it tells you to get into recovery. You must power off the phone. WHILE THE PHONE IS OFF, *HOLD* volume up AND down at the same time and press the power button. A menu will come up...one of the options is recovery. Use volume down to highlight it, volume up to select it. When the android graphic comes up, press BOTH volume up AND down at the same time to bring up the recovery menu. Since you booted your phone I can't guarantee what state it's in. Others who've done this claim everything's fine. In any case, you MUST complete option 4 or your phone will never boot right at this point.

WOW I should be embarrassed now. It appears I just was not doing the power button both volume button correctly. It is now in recovery and loading the update.
Good thing I obeyed the 100% battery bit.
With any luck it will continue to go smoothly. I am pretty sure it will because I am reading re reading and trying to follow instructions and only messed up the power button volume buttons bit.

If it's past the loading BP image... part in recovery you're good. I'm working on a new version of the HoB that may take me a day or two to complete, but, should make it even easier than it is now (I can't believe I'm saying that). But you're good to go.

You're removing the "proof of idiocy" factors? WTF are we gonna do for fun 'round here? Wax the trees and watch the squirrels slip?

I partially blame the otter box. I kept trying to hold volume up and down and power at the same time and as soon as I tried it with out the case it worked.

As for fool proof it can not be done, the more things get fool proof the more foolish we get. Its a moving target that seems to forever stay ahead.

The way you just described the power button up down thing is ever so slightly different than option 4 but seriously any non noob would have had zero trouble.

At least your not dealing with apple users - cue south park why wont it read - human centipad.

There are some issues I am going to nuke once and for all. Cause if people screw up this one scenario I'm recoding for after I put out the HoB 7.0 release, they're literally on their own. Your issue is understandable. I've had that happen and it's a real PITA. Especially given that you DON'T want it to boot at ALL during that stage. Nonetheless, I never said I was going to make it foolproof. They always improve the fools every time you try. ;) I've been in software development a VERY long time so I know what can be useful for improvement and what is a waste of my time. All the info screens are about to get an overhaul so I'll keep you in mind when I rewrite the recovery steps.

I didn't say fool proof, i said "proof of idiocy" if it doesn't work you didn't rtfm, and if you tried to hack your phone without r'ing the fm you're an idiot

7.0 RELEASE

WARNING: MAJOR changes to this version. This NEEDS to be tested!

o) Changed first menu to select version or FXZ
o) Added new second menu to select INSTALL/REINSTALL/REPAIR or FXZ options
o) REMOVED other menus and converted to a wizard

What this means is there's no 1, 2, 3, 4 anymore. It will walk you through the whole process. If you tell the HoB "no" at any option, you better know what you're doing. Take my warning seriously in that I haven't had a chance to fully test this. It seems to be working for me but I can't test everything.

Have they made the option to switch from LTE to 3G only in the factory menu yet in .246? I think the thunderbolt app broke my 4G last time and that's why I came back to GB. Where I am when I am inside it flickers from 4G back to 3G the moment I pick the phone up from the desk so it makes the data freak out all day long.

you can get to that option by addressing the secret setting menu...go to your dialer and keyboard *#*#4636#*#* fuuny how everybody forgets that
