Downgrade to 902 - No app or data loss

you can get to that option by addressing the secret setting menu...go to your dialer and keyboard *#*#4636#*#* funny how everybody forgets that
Isn't that what the thunderbolt app does? I tried that code and it took me to the same place as the thunderbolt app. I'm not sure if its the app but right when I used it to turn off 4G I couldn't get 4G to come back... Not until FXZ back to .905...

The option has been grayed out in every single ICS build for the Bionic. I'm telling you it's not going to get it.

well, I never touched it and I never used the thunderbolt app, just knew the menu was there from people talking about it back on 2233, sam is the guy that KNOWS if it works

Ok well the last issue for tonight is do you know what is causing android OS to take tons of battery usage? at least 50% after 5 hours. I should be getting better battery life like others say they are getting...

Did you, just spitballing here, look at the battery stats in settings to see what maybe is using the most battery? :) Android OS is only part of it. 50%, as altspeed said, is deceptive cause other programs are calling into the OS. Ignore that one and look at the others below it.

it's a deceptive statistic, you've been on the phone non-stop, right?
No, it was mild to moderate use, screen on time was about 1.5 hours in 8 hours off charger time.

Nothing else was even coming close to the Android OS, it was usually 40-50% each for screen and Android OS. I don't know why it would be more that GB which only shows as about 20%. I also get 15-20 hours on GB and 7-10 on ICS with the same amount of use.

ICS is finally utilizing dual core CPU usage. This has generally given me better battery life (on 24x builds....wasn't really on 232 long enough to remember what it was like but it had a bunch of debugging code in the kernel still). And it's faster to boot. Mine shows 40% but after 13 hours off the charger I have 80% cause I haven't done a whole lot with the phone today. When I was camping I made it through an entire day of pretty decent usage.

Well I would really like to upgrade to .246 and see what happens. Can I reinstall if the issue where 4G "breaks" again?

If youre still looking for a guinea pig, i took the plunge with 7.0 to .246. It appears to have worked for me as im currently installing the update, i assume cache wiping and the rest are gravy.

Once you go to 246, there's no safety net of an FXZ. However, a REINSTALL combined with a factory reset instead of a cache wipe is pretty damn close. I can't guarantee anything, of course. You assume all risk if you go that route.

Sweet. Good to know I didn't totally break it this time. Check root and see what happens. :)
