Downgrade to 902 - No app or data loss

Once you go to 246, there's no safety net of an FXZ. However, a REINSTALL combined with a factory reset instead of a cache wipe is pretty damn close. I can't guarantee anything, of course. You assume all risk if you go that route.

Sweet. Good to know I didn't totally break it this time. Check root and see what happens. :)

Taking the plunge from .232 to .246 as well. If we can't go farther...so be it.....232 was really good.....looking forward to .246

so rooting is no longer an option, you just install ICS and go get super SU if you don't want root? where is that moron that kept begging for the link to "rooted ICS" when the first wave of leaks came out? sam, this is getting suspiciously like a real linux distro with the slackware style installer and all :hail:

What do you mean by "rooting is no longer an option"? When you get to that step it asks you if you want to install root. If you want root, you say yes. If you don't, you say no. Color me confused.

oh, I haven't been through it 7.0, I just knew you had it all wizarded and I saw you tell hodgewdm to check root, didn't know he rooted, thought maybe you just threw it into the wizard as a standard part of the process, but I guess you wouldn't with the counter showing "if ever"

Never assume. :) I ask as part of the wizard. Once the update is finished installing and the phone has booted, the next step is to ask if you want root and give you the choice.

Question

Ok, I went from 244 to 246 without a hitch. Awesome script. I was wondering something though. How is it that we need a boot.img for the leak we are going to, in this case 246 boot.img? Only asking because let's say that 246 ends up being the OTA. Then all those that are currently on 905, they have the 905 boot.img, so they will be able to use the 905 boot.img that they have now and upgrade to 246. I don't get it, unless the security change has something to do with it. Any ideas?

hey is there any reason you could think of to why the components sections is taking so long to download/ stopping some way thru it as well? (obviously my internet could be at question)

thanks Sam
