Downgrade to 902 - No app or data loss

Quick question Sam, I read all the FAQ's and whatnot, and this was not in there. I have a hunch, but I'm not gonna make an assumption so I'll just ask you. I applied the update and am still in the wipe cache partition menu. I wiped the cache, but am I safe to just wipe data/factory reset too now, before I choose "reboot system now" into ICS? I'm just gonna FDR it now and reload everything rather than even try loading it up and having it be all buggy with my media area apps.

+1

That's the way I used to do it every time, then let marketstore/playpen/whatevertheycallitnow restore your apps and restore you app data only, no system data, from whatever backup tool you use

to piggy back off of that question do you recommend it to people coming from 905 to do both? just checking bc if so im gonna make a list of my apps to make sure it redownloads all of them haha

Why wouldn't you just use tibu or something related to get your apps back?

Btw 7.0 is working. I just used it to go from 230 to 232.

You can but you gotta know what you're doing. No system data at all can be restored or you've defeated the purpose. Games, Tapatalk, etc can all be restored safely.

Another satisfied customer. Lol. The wizard makes it pretty simple doesn't it?

Yes it does. I prefer the walk you through step by step method. I'm the idiot that when trying to install .232, tried to just jump to step 3. Needless to say I have learned a LOT since then lol. This would have been nicer in the beginning, but then again I wouldn't have learned the process like I have. But yeah its very user friendly. I mean obviously you could still screw it up like unplugging your phone from USB during the RSD or whatever, but if you can read instructions and follow them, it's pretty much foolproof.

Yea i normally just restore user apps without data and have never had any problems. But i see what your saying.

It will never be foolproof. They always send me new and improved fools to test it. Lol. But the idea was to remove one of my biggest support headaches which is people skipping things, assuming they knew better than having to do 1-4 in order, etc. It should make things a bit more obvious now...

Sam you made this stupid simple hahaha, one odd thing has happened i had to unplug to get into recovery... odd but doesnt seem to have caused ill affects

(edit thank god though, the battery that was in was lower than i had thought after the rsd so i swapped and continued LOL)

Never had that issue. Odd.

first time i have ever seen it too... i was like **** i broke my phone somehow and put it in a bootloop already, then was like ok let me unplug and try. and it got to recovery, its finishing ICS install then im gonna plug it back in before i reset it... idk very odd

Oh an addition to the FAQ you may want to put battery life suggestion... if its not there (i forget if it is). bc i see some idiot saying eh 40% is golden to do this. ( i was at 80% and was down way to far by the time i hit recovery)... just a suggestion though.

anyways thanks again this made it stupid simple as i said haha dancedroid :hail:

Left Safestrap on

Left Safestrap on by accident. Am I bricked? Can't find anything other than in the instructions where it said not to do it? Thanks.
